The new bmw is, has made it to Australia, not an attractive car at all it looks like there were different designs so for from Back and sides, it has no flow, looks like a car that it’s more a test on how pathetic can we make a car look and see if if sells.

It looks like a buck toothed beaver Mated with a block of steel. The kidney design is absolutely tasteless.

Bring back the shape from the mid 80’s to late 90’s they looked like s tough German who meant business.

Now they look so tacky, especially for this car fully optioned it’s over $200 thousand dollars, whose the joke on some one stupid to buy the ugliest car on the road.

I am not much of a fan of Tesla though it’s a much prettier car.

Though look st the insults Bmw flung to make people seem inferior cause the have said it’s ugly. It’s re verse psychology marketing.

Looks like a lot of other larger 5 door 'luxury' cars.

The interior looks like the cars from the 60s and the 70s .
Hey BMW , those days are long gone
And , hopefully they never return .

Jesus, the outside looks like the inside of a bmw owner.

The electric vehicle push needs the brakes put on it until a realistic power source comes along.
I was soldering 18650s together at 12 years old in my rc cars just like Elon does today.
The power is awesome and the torque curve flat, but screw recharging a car. Not even realistic.

Wow..that commercial

"Are we scared of the unknown now?"

Lol..no bmw, I am well aware you and everyone else is pushing electric cars to limit travel.
Ugh..infuriating

I would like to have my '69 Roadrunner back .
There is a reason for that , though .

Agreed a car like this is a long distance cruiser, not a short hop local car, if it was you could get away with a much smaller platform, and who wants to add another 2 to 3 hours on an already ten hour drive to charge it up.

Melbourne to Sydney only requires one tank refill, a bite to eat and a leak, 20 minutes.

Boy, ain't that the truth.
GM is going whole hog with electric.
Insanity, mixed with totally ignoring reality.

On a positive note these electric cars will force values up of petrol vehicles, once people realise how limited an electric car is.

Don’t understand why similar powertains similar to diesel electric locomotives were not an alternative, combined with a hybrid set up.

A direct drive motor on each wheel. I imagine it would be pretty efficient.

In the US, they will be almost impossible to find after 2026.
Talking actual cars, not trucks or SUVs.

And no one mentions infrastructure, and lack thereof.
The fact that many houses will not be able to have a charge port. Due to cost. Due to safety. Due to simply not being able to add that to the home's electric service.

The fuel needed to make the electricity to charge the cars.
The cost of the EV.
The price to recharge while on the road.
The extra time to make long trips.
The method to dispose of the batteries.
The limited amount of rare earth metals.

I'm sure I'm missing some of the other roadblocks seemingly being ignored.

I was just reading about some new, fancy car with four motors like that.
I believe it was a sports car.

Funny you should ask.
I've seen several funny pictures taken of the solution they are using

A GD GAS GENERATOR IN THE TRUNK

Wish I was joking

Particularly if you need to have a 3phase connection installed, I imagine that would be really pricey, especially in an older place where the wiring is poor, and needs re-wiring, installation of a fuse box with safety switches etc.

I had to put in a new fuse box in my old place, no re-wiring this cost almost 1500 dollars over ten years ago.

Labour and material costs would be a lot more now.

If I had an electric car, I’d be the asshole to put an electric chair in the back and start Uber driving drunks for kicks.
