OK, Uncle Roger is a bit of a stereotype.

But what he says is usually right.

And here I mean correct, listen to Uncle Roger.

I didn't watch all Uncle Roger videos but as far as I saw, he's always right.

For me, almost all chefs and cooks on tv are fake and also bad actors. Real ones are almost extinct.

Julia was real, same as her friend Jacques Pepin.

The worst of all is Gordon Ramsay. He layered his fake skills with bad attitude and other diverting tricks. If you don't believe me, watch him making Carbonara.

Good to go?
If you mean good to go in bin then you're correct.

I never understood why anyone would eat what Jaime Oliver cooked. He slivers and lisps all the time so no doubt at least some of those slivers ends up in the food.
Eating some blokes slivers in my food is a big no no for me.

First, I was going to bring up a Carbonara example and him too, so you beat me to that.

I also agree about these big chefs being kind if detached from it. That does not mean they can not cook or know what they do but they ALWAYS need to change the original recipe and add their touch to it. I understand that it is necessary for them to build their image and manifest their way for others to see.

It's also not a shame to not abide a recipe and change it. But by all means it has gotten to a point where every chef has "their thing". One adds # ginger into everything. You can't learn a lot from these.

That is why the only time I will watch TV besides documentaries about animals is "Cooking Duel". Two chefs send each others around the world to eat and then copy that meal the best way they can. And you know the guy already lost if he is sent to Italy and having to copy nonninas beloved speciality and the test eaters are her family and friends.

Seeing them picking apart the meal and trying to deliver the same result is kind of satisfying in contrast to the stuff I wrote above. Much to learn, too!

I have personally experienced this, it was brutal.

LOL, no, it was some southern Italian pasta dishes, I should have known better. They were salivating but not for the food, it was for the ass whooping.

The moment you told them you use ricotta when you make lasagna was life threatening. Hahaha 😄👍

Yeah you really should have known better lol. And down south by all means, you begged for the boot treatment *pun intended*.

Even some recipes from my nonna are not seen as conform but who cares the next town over they do it different anyways, a little bit at least.

Everybody would # up not growing up there.

Could as well have used one of these powders to mix with water, pasta and bacon and tada.. "Carbonara".

Don't call it Carbonara when it isn't, not being a food snob but just invent a different name or call it "Carbonara style"

Yeah, I told my wife not to order her pizza like that and she knew better the first time we went.

Just woke up, and what silly fluff I was posting.

But awoke to another little party in SA.

The Matrics who finished High School (class of 2021) got their results.
Everyone I know passed!

Congratulation, for what it's worth.
At least one hurdle passed in life that never needs to be revisited.

And then we leave the chicken to marinade...

Ten minutes later, opens the fridge.

Oh tofu or chicken is now ready.

Really?
