NCAA changes transgender athlete participation policy amid calls for reevaluation

Lia Thomas' emergence in the pool put the NCAA's transgender policy in the spotlight

Basically this biological male who decided they were now a female was dominating competitions. In response the NCAA took the cowards way out and said they would evaluate on a case by case basis which sports transgender athletes can compete in.

Sounds like what the NCAA is saying, is whether they are a woman or not depends on what sport they choose to compete in. I somehow can't fathom how Lia Thomas is not a woman because they like to swim, and would be a woman in another sport. You are either a woman, or you aren't. If you are a woman, you compete in women's sports.

Would this qualify as a hate crime by the NCAA?

The NCAA punted is what they did. They left it to other bodies to make the hard decisions on this and then they can point at them whichever group ends up mad about it all.

They can be embarrassed but if they are in the camp saying 'I'm now a woman and demand to be referred to as such' then they SHOULD champion biological males competing in women's sports. That would be hypocritical to say you aren't woman enough to play women's sports but people need to call you a woman still.

Boys have a penis and girls have a vajay-jay. Seems pretty clear cut to me, hell I’ll go as far to say if I identify as a cat I can use that simple metric to determine if I’m a boy cat or a girl cat 🐈 meow.

I am pro LGBT rights in the sense of live and let live, and don't discriminate in work, school, etc.

HOWEVER, one of the teachings of the new left and gender ideology that is totally irrational and anti-science is that there are zero scientific, physical differences between the sexes. They believe that the differences are all socially constructed.

The reality is that humans are a sexually dymorphic species, meaning one sex is on average larger and stronger than the other. In the human species, the larger and stronger sex on average is male. Stronger bones, muscles, etc. There are outliers in both sexes, but the average holds true strongly.

Especially in sports, from swimming to UFC, the strongest male athletes DOMINATE the best female athletes for the most part.

So when, a transgender person who was born male competes in most female sports that require size or strength, they often are dominating across many domains.

The left, with their new gender ideology, cannot admit that there is a physical difference in the sexes. Therefore, this is "transphobic."

This mess has done nothing but ruin women's sporting events.

I don't care about sports, but some young girls have worked hard their entire lifetimes for a chance to compete, and now they're getting knocked off the roster by men competing in the women's racket.
That's pretty heart breaking, and career ruining, if you're a woman who doesn't make the next level because some dude in a skirt took first place.

Why the NCAA is the first to look into this baffles me, and their answer to take it case by case is even more confusing.

It isn't a dude anymore and it sure as hell isn't a woman, seems like perhaps the NCAA needs to examine creating a third gender division in sports to cover the its... who knows, such a move might even bring this horsecrap to a full stop as I am pretty sure that isn't the solution the collective of "its" is looking for.

The NCAA, alongside all of this country, needs sorely to stop placating the mentally ill and re-embrace sanity... I won't hold my breath for that top happen, however, as we're clearly in the era of mental illness being a heralded incidence and placating it being a virtue.

It went off the rails as soon as we went from championing the group that said they could only ever be attracted to people of the same biological sex as themselves and they were born that way to championing the people who said their brains believed they were a different gender then the biological sex they were born as and that difference was paramount in importance so everyone had to pretend their biological selves weren't what they were.

They even go so far as to demand that the gays and lesbians play along which runs counter to what the gays and lesbians claim as their orientation.

At least gays and lesbians operate in the same physical reality as the rest of us.

Some of us continue to work at it. I doubt I'll ever run into the issue because it's not common, but who knows? I may have to step into the ring with a transgender competitor and spar. Certainly it will help that I've practiced against men, but at the same time, men at practice against a female opponent are not men at competition. I am very well aware of that.

I won't lie. I am so, so glad I am not growing up in these times. I likely would have had my own head twisted far, far around as a tomboy who often resented being asked to be more ladylike. Who knows where I might turn out? But today I am very happy being a woman.
