He also was vaccinated. Because in Aus you have to be vaccinated. Besides i dont remember many players having issues with covid during 19 or the start of the Aus Open in 2020.

Its ironic that many players had dropped citing health reasons...

He might have been though unlikely while fighting off covid. Still doesn't change the fact he had covid and it caused him breathing problems to the point he had to forfeit a match.

Seriously?
If he was still 'recovering from' C19 or one of the deviants, he would have been having breathing issues during training before hand surely?
This appears to have been an acute reaction to 'something', but not 'recovery from' C19 as he wouldn't have been able or capable to put a foot on court if he was 'still in recovery'. Think about it logically.
