Of course it did, because it’s certainly not routine policy for them to decide on their schedule early in the week. Oh god no, it’s GOT to be Trump. I mean it’s not like you can watch every week and see the same thing happen over and over again. Nope. Certainly not!

None of the movies are really that great or look all that good....to many repeats..

There are people in every country who say it was not that it was different, the Trump idea is just that a simple thought.
Why make such a big thing of every idea everyone expresses?

Do you know how many ideas are expressed that are totally wrong, but turn into something big because the internet is always right? I’ve tried to buy tickets to movies that didn’t show them scheduled two days later, and the next day there was a full schedule showing for the next week. Absolutely nothing to do with Trump, or any other political crap, simply when the schedule gets posted. But by all means, let’s go with Trump instead because that apparently makes more sense.

It’s always funny how anyone that doesn’t go with the group think is dumping over every idea expressed.

At the beginning of this post, there was a lot of weird stuff going on. Now that it is a few days later, the theaters have fixed the lineup. Now its over. What was it all about? Kind of looks like nothing. I suppose that if it happens again, there really was nothing. But so far, there have not been any satisfactory explanations for theaters across the world from small town to big city theaters seemingly in lockstep tighter than a military march.
Looking around at the world and questioning things is not stupid. Keeping your eyes closed and your mouth shut is. I would rather be wrong about some strange set of coincidences than let a wolf get away with weaRing sheep's clothing.

Try looking at theater listings for next weekend, January 14 and 15. Everything is either blank or has Scream only. This is normal. This has been explained within this thread, multiple times. If you don't find the explanations satisfying, there's not much to be done I guess.

Are you saying all theater listings across the world are on a single schedule? Because that is what happened. There will probably not be another situation like this happen again, where a single movie is shown to be the only listing on a weekend across the world. The movie theaters are not connected like that. Scheduling is often different from movie theater to movie theater. The movie theaters are not going to be on the same strange scheduling from town to town to town- And if you cant understand that, there is not much to be done I guess. a reply to: cmdrkeenkid

Many of us posted days ago that theaters near us had full listings of movies for the 6th and beyond with links. Many of these theaters were the same corporations that people claimed were in lock step of whatever this conspiracy is to show only one movie. So basically the conspiracy is squashed unless it's being changed to "some" or a "few" theaters are involved in this "conspiracy".

All the theaters know what new movies are coming out when, and from the distributors how many screens they'll need for each theater. Beyond that, the movies are screened by anticipated demand and contractual obligations.

With digital distribution there's no overnighting and splicing reels, so they don't need to do it far ahead of time. With algorithmic scheduling, which the larger chains use, you don't need people running the show, figuring out which capacity screens get which movies for what run times.

Coupling this information with the fact that attendance has been declining year over year, even pre-pandemic, a couple days before the weekend rush is all the time you need.

In essence, yes, the movie theaters are connected via the distributors, despite being different companies, in different regions, and even different countries. There are only a handful of global distribution companies; essentially Disney, Sony, Universal, Warner Brothers, and a couple independent low volume ones.

There is no conspiracy there, so there's nothing to squash. Just trying to instill some common sense.

I agree and in our town it was defiantly not a normal way to list, they usually just show the old ones and then the new as they come it never disappears on a certain day down to 3 screen rooms listing ONE movie and a Private Screening.

The PDF you linked is still available, for what it's worth. They probably removed the webinar Zoom login info from public domain due to the publicity it received, if anything. It should be starting right now, since I think it was today at 1200 PST. It's only scheduled to be a half hour webinar anyway.

My emphasis.

I'll start with the five I checked last week, when this thread started.

Hometown theater only has Scream on the docket.



Theater in Palm Beach has Scream and the private rental option.



AMC in Disney Springs has Scream and Belle, which has a limited release scheduled for that day as well.



AMC in Chicago also has Scream and Belle.



AMC in NYC is also Scream and Belle.



These locations with Belle are not shocking, as they're each flagship locations for the chain.

Now let's check some international theaters...

My first thought was to check Toronto, but they're locked back down and have nothing at all.

So I started by Google searching for the biggest theater in London, UK. That took me to the Odeon Cinema, so I chose the Haymarket location.

The only screening they have available for next weekend at this time is Scream.



Next stop was Dublin, Ireland, as that was another location I saw mentioned within this thread. I chose Savoy Cinemas, since they claimed to have Ireland's largest screen. They actually had made very easy, you could see the showtimes right from Google. It also showed other theaters, so I chose the next one on the list, Cineworld Cinema Dublin. Let's see what they have...



Just Scream. Both theaters. Nothing else.

I will let go of it- mostly... It was very strange reading about the whole thing, and then seeing the "proof" here in my own small town. What everyone is saying makes sense. But there is a lot to be suspicious about in this world.
