Ah yes ... House. It was one of the first horror movies I was officially allowed to see.

I'm surprised my mom let me see it honestly. Her philosophy was that I could watch all the sci-fi horror I wanted because she felt like it so far outside the bounds of possible being in space that there was no way I could possibly be scared of it. So I never got to see things like Friday the 13th or A Nightmare on Elm Street because they took place in the "real" world and thus "could" happen in her thought process.

I cut my teeth on movies like Alien.

Salem's lot... that monster with the pale bald head and pointy teeth... yeet...

On hot nights, dad would leave the front door open (such a different era) and I'd see the bright moonlight making the ground glow an eery pale luminescence and I'd beg him to close the door.. I knew that thing was somewhere in the shimmering shadows, watching me...

LOL..

The movie gargoyles.
1972.

I was born in 1971 so I don't know what year I first saw that movie but it freaked me out.

War of the Worlds. I would sleep in the middle of my bed for fear of the hand with the suction cup tipped fingers.

I remember, as a little kid, watching an old movie called 'Homicidal'. I stayed up and watched with my babysitter.
I had nightmares about it for years afterwards.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon and the two sequels. They were on late night tv, and they gave me a fear of the water.

For me it was "The Shining" - couldn't sleep for days and my younger brother had one of those big wheels.

Once they put it on TV, it's technically a "show" that is on TV.

The intro to the x files always spooked me out when I was a kid.
Also Unsolved mysteries with Robert Stack and in search of, sometimes creeped me also.

I also remember one of the first times I found myself aroused.
When I was a little kid I had a MAD crush on Deejay.

ETA: forgive my prepubescent imagination.
But I remember that incident clear as day. I think my mother might even remember it.

Showing my age and all, but what the hell.
Two episodes of the Twilight Zone----at least I think so....looks like one was a different show.
I don't remember the whole episodes, and maybe I was just too damn young to watch the show.

One show was about an earwig or something that went from one ear and came out the other ear.
Just the thought of it now makes me queasy.
Although, hmmmm, I don't remember ever watching the Nightallery
www.imdb.com...

The other was something about a photographer. He came up with some development fluid than when applied to a photo would create the same change in a person, making them better looking IIRC.
He got greedy or corrupt of something and ending up spilling the fluid on his picture and stepping on it. With obvious tragic results.
That's the gist of what I remember.

Both gave me the creeps big time.

I was a little too old to really be scared by it, but the fluke man episode of the X-Files was just plain nasty.

They used to show old sci-fi of the B-movie variety on Saturday afternoons, and wp61c7c8cc.png[/pic]]this one - Shivers - scared the living daylights out of me when I was again 6 or 7 years old. It was months before I could take a bath or fall asleep without being terrified of those parasites.

Synopsis

It really is a piece of work for a movie, and I don't think I would have been allowed to watch it if my parents had known exactly what all was going on in it.
