Why did mods delete my post?

This is NOT intended as a place to complain about any Mod actions or T&C in any way.

Any efforts to do so will likely be met with prompt Mod action, so please, just don't do it.

MANY users over the years have complained about Mod actions of one type or another, and most of the time it's pretty obvious to some of us where the user had unknowingly stepped over the line, but their Mod complaints are immediately removed by Mods (as they should be) so there really isn't any place for users to share their questions and experience on this topic.

I'm hoping a thread like this will be deemed appropriate by Mods, but suspect that's entirely up to the folks posting here.

DO NOT discuss any specific user or Mod here.


DO provide the text of a post, or better yet, potential post, along with specific question or questions about whether it might violate T&C and/or likely result in some sort of Mod action.

I am offering to help anyone, from anywhere, adhering to any philosophy, in whatever way I can from my 15+ year experience here, and suspect that many others are also willing to help anyone with honest and polite questions.

This is 100% neutral territory, leave your arguments on the boards and improve your ATS skills here.

We had a little get together and we all agreed.

How about asking if anyone else saw a thread that either disappeared...or was a figment of our imagination (never existed)?

Can we do that in this thread?

Erm...

If your post is deleted you can just go to your inbox and see why it was deleted... if you have any questions about it, the Mod that deleted it is named right there and you can ask them why...

Been there, done that and for the most part, the Mods are just following the Tees and Cees.

Not really.
The only person entitled to know why a thread was removed is the OP.

It's a privacy thing.

The best way, really the only way, to find out why a post is removed is to ask the mod who removed the post, via PM.
If you cannot contact that mod, you can complain/alert to get the attention of the entire staff.

Other members can guess, speculate.
Bu only mods would know for sure.
And, asking in "public" is often a drama bomb.

The email messages often doesn't provide enough clarity, and it seems obvious that some users are having trouble determining where certain boundries are.

This effort is for them.

Hi Sweetie!
Two of my sons doggies didnt like the snow, so they are down here for the winter. He made it safe back up to the cabin, only getting stuck 2 times. My son is mostly vegan, so his female pittbull is loving the menu over here!

I agree 100%.

But some users (has always been this way) seem to prefer posting complaints instead of contacting the mod or reading t&c more carefully.

My hope is that these users will post questions here before becoming complaints.

If this thread isn't appropriate, please feel free to delete it.

Just trying to do my part if I can help in some way.

Couple more quick questions if you have time.


1 - would it be allowed to ask why a certain post might not have resulted in mod action? Always for our best guesses of course, since we aren't mods.

2- would it be allowed for users here to help other users to make a bad post accomplish the same thing while remaining inside t&c?

Hope you get more snow than cold this year.

They deleted it because they could. If you don't get a few posts deleted, you are not normal here. Although some people are really nice..... I wonder if New-here ever got a post deleted?
