Not derelict, but things are quieter all around.

Welcome back.

Seems that way.

Welcome back.

Thanks buddy. I’m using this post as an opportunity to try to recall how to use broken quotes within a reply. Hopefully I’m doing it right.

Cheers

Did you get it put together?
That happens to be my "not so secret" hobby. I have a room full of legos! I love building the sets, and I love free building, or MOC (my own creations)

I figure there are a lot worse things I could be doing. LOL

Currently working on the Hocus Pocus house. So much detail!

G'day Chief.

I'm in 2 minds presently about putting the lego cap together. I admire it in it's lego box presentation. Pride of place next to all my other remaining Captain America memorabilia. It's standing next to my Cap sippy cup (bought by daughter) lol. Collecting since the sixties.

Bushfires 2019 took out my comic books and other Marvel collectables. Dammit!

My wife is working very hard (night shifts) and I'm progressing with renovating a guest bedroom that tilted and sunk a bit after heavy rains last year. Spending my true love's earnings on the necessities so to speak but all is good. Place has dried out again and water is low so the garden suffered. Decided not to plant presently. High temps for early spring as well. Not looking forward to this summer. Hope we have prepared enough for the fire season.

Nice to hear from you. Enjoy your lego's. I will soon.

My kind regards,

Bally

Lurking, lurking, lurking. Guess I just like reading stuff.

Pleasing to see your post,

Kind regards,

Late reply mate. Might be due to I missed your post due to a blank one after it on the next page from where I stand looking.

Wondering what a Diamond painting is. Can you enlighten me.

As I mentioned to Chiefs Mom I've been renovating and haven't touched the lego box but it still stands out. Maybe one day soon.

I'm doing a up a room that twisted and slumped due to underground water after heavy rains. Got it levelled with a hydraulic jack and stabilized it with concrete brick blocks. The room was still twisted a bit and some walls were out of shape so instead of wrecking the room I put up false walls and facia. (lots of timber and spacers) Did my head in a bit with levels and squaring up. (Never done this before). Here in Aussie we have houses and sheds built with corrugated iron. I have it on my roof and also have a large shed built with corrugate. Well, you can buy sheets of the same in a miniature version. Very fine corrugations. Stupid here thinks, I'll use this on the worse walls, won't have to paint it or cover joins and it will be like a feature, yuk, yuk, yuk.

Looks good, but crikey the stuff is weak. One dent and you have to chuck a whole panel. Bit like lego now. Being very careful and particular. So I'm keeping my mind active presently without putting Captain America together.

My regards mate,

Bally

Sounds like you have your hands full! Sorry about the comic books, that's a sad loss.

Mostly a fall/winter hobby for me, which is on it's way. Since I spend so much of the summer outside.

Hope you get that room sorted out. Are the houses there not on a cement foundation? I'm guessing not a lot of basements there?

I reside on an acreage in the scrub so to speak. I bought this place 10 years ago. This house was built in stages over a period of about 25 years. The original portion was built on a concrete slab. Lounge, dining, kitchen and bathroom. The outer rooms are added on timber and concrete pylons.

Being on a slope with 5 levels the lower room dropped on its foundations. (not much but you did have to chock the beds up) I imagine the underground water coursed beneath the original slab.

The original large slab itself has tilted but only about less than a half inch off level over 9 yards so not terribly worried there.

Once I've finished this room and straighten out the adjoining wall I'[ll look at perhaps ripping up the cork tiles off the slab, cleaning it up and pouring a small top coat on it. Pie in the sky stuff. Winter has flown so no cutting wood for customers and that gives me time to pursue tidying up the place.

Kind regards,

Bally

Hope alls well with you and yours Cav. We are finding it tough financially with day to day living. Prices have outpaced wages so to speak. I noticed some of our city folk have it sussed out on our last visit to Sydney. I came across some that don't cook. They just buy reasonably priced prepared meals at the local supermarkets or convenience shop each day during working hours. One shop prepared take away meals previously ordered which were promptly picked up as those clients got off the train or bus in the evening. Good food too.

Different here. Long drive to the supermarket so we buy up and prepare our own meals over the pay fortnight. Easier with just the 2 of us now.

Had to deregister my truck and hand it's rego plates in as I'm not using it for wood deliveries now. Saves on the fees and insurance which I can pay other bills with. So down to 1 car now for true love to get to work.

These things can only get better.

Kind regards,

Bally

It's Martin I lost my account in all the weirdness.
So diamond painting is like doing paint by numbers with these little plastic diamond 🔹 it's actually very relaxing (just hard to see)
Here's one you'd like

I don't know what's going on with ATS but I'd be so heartbroken to see The Shed's door close 😢 even when I don't post I do come by.
