The new Omicron variant could make it more likely that people will need a fourth coronavirus vaccine earlier than expected, Pfizer officials said on Wednesday.

The standard two doses may be less effective against the variant, the company announced earlier in the day, and a booster dose increases neutralizing antibodies.

But the timeline might need to be moved up for a fourth dose. Previously, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, PhD, said another dose might be needed about a year after a third shot. Now the company’s scientists believe that a fourth shot, which targets the Omicron variant, could be required sooner.

The efficacy of the vaccines doesn't matter unless you assert nothing was purchased from the vaccine manufacturers?

Widgets/vaccines were purchased ergo vaccines exist, even if their effectiveness is zero. Last I heard it lasts approximately 6 months and and starts about 60-70% effectiveness that degrades over time to less than 30%-40% at 6 months.

Exactly and it's kind of pertinent at this point to know which of TPTB has financial interests tied up in the vaccine companies.

Do not agree with hardly anything AOC says or does, but Id bet she is barking about stock ownership in Congress because behind the scenes it's rampant on both sides, Trump has vaccine stocks, and so does Biden on down the line, we have seen the Republicans but everybody does this and it's not just here in the US.

Too many had insider knowledge and likely leveraged themselves into a better position, all the while average Americans didn't know what was on the horizon. When your leaders do this it's financial/governmental malfeasance at best and corruption and graft at its worst.

CNN is losing referral/kickback $$$. They were so sad yesterday that only 62% of Adult Americans are fully vaccinated, and only 23% of that 62% have opted to get their booster shot.

Take CNN's sadness and propagate it across all medical and referral platforms that are not reaping the windfall they expected.
