Active Shooter Oxford Michigan High School

Not a lot of details yet. At least 4 injured, one shot in the face. The shooter has been arrested. Oxford is an upper middle class suburb an hour or so NW of Detroit.

School shootings happen frequently in urban areas. These things end very quickly, 99% of the time.

Unfortunately school shootings happen too frequently in my opinion. Although my daughter has started college she still has the occasional nightmare of being shot in school. Guess that's a part of growing up with active shooter drills in school.

They seem to frequent news cycle coverups as well.

I can never post pictures but a parent posted an email regarding rumors and threats that had been circulating since November 11. The school assured parents they were taking the situation seriously.

Live discussion with police. 15 year old shooter. 3 dead, 6 injured.

That school is about 30 miles away from me.
We have some friends in that area but none with any kids there.
Crazy.

About the same distance for me as well. I only know of a family that goes to a Christian school in Oxford. Just so sad for the kids, family, staff.

My heart goes out to those families.

Get her a personal carry and have her learn how to use it.
It really sucks our kids have to go thru this....

Prayers for everyone involved . I do think we need more mental care facilities in this country . I sure hope this is not over hurt feelings or picking on the shooter.

Yeah I'm not sure, apparently something was brewing at the school for a while according to the email the school sent out, but of course this could be unrelated. I did read one victim was shot in the face. Whether it was a bad shot, or on purpose I don't know.

Your daughter has them about school shooters, and I grew up with nightmares about nuclear war. I guess they scare us with something new every generation.
