Here's a good laugh, at least it was for me. I don't go anywhere for Thanksgiving, it's just me and my husband and sons, but if I was going somewhere and they said get tested first, I would NOT go. I would make sure they knew why also. Wtf? Who does this? I wonder how many people would actually do this.

There is a video, but it's on rumble and I don't think we can embed rumble vids.

Dr. Damour then suggested that hosts could mitigate potential risks by having guests undergo testing outside the home before entering. "So, if it feels like it's gonna be weird," she said, "maybe make it kind of fun. Say, 'We're gonna start with the hors-d'œuvres in the garage', you know, 'We'll have drinks, we'll do our rapid test, and then come on in'." "You can make it playful, make it fun, and then be able to enjoy the holiday because you're not worried about safety."

Yeah; I wrote a thread about this a week or two back.

I took my test yesterday evening.

At my behest, we tested here, at home, rather than driving all the way to the hosts and take the test there, as our hosts suggested. Number one, what a waste of driving IF we tested positive (tested negative) when we arrived at their place, and number two and more hilarious: if someone is so terrified of COVID, why TF would invite someone onto your property, into your physical dwelling, to take the test? Yes, it's the garage, but still, does that make any sense?

It's not ok for "conspiracy theorists" to get their "medical advice" from non-MSM approved sources, but then the MSM goes ahead and dispenses atrocious medical advice.

They've been pushing this rubbish in the UK too.
I saw one of those TV doctor types saying the same sort of stuff.
here they dish out lateral flow test to anyone who wants them for free because Boris Bunter spent 3 billion pounds of tax payer money on them. The same tests that the FDA and numerous countries said were unfit for purpose and to bin them.
But rather than do that Bunter has used them to put his cases numbers and up and keep the 'pandemic' going.
Even the kids at school realised how crap they were and used them to get a fortnight off school when ever they felt like it by testing positive.
To do this they would put Coca Cola in their nose and this gives a positive result.
You're right about anyone who asks you to take a test before entering their home should be told to take a running jump.
Simple-minded imbeciles who swallow the state propaganda whole.
Best to steer clear of the Branch Covidians.

I just scanned your op in that other thread. It's interesting. Also, you are a better (more family oriented?) person than I am!

"if someone is so terrified of COVID, why TF would invite someone onto your property, into your physical dwelling, to take the test? "

I thought this also. I wouldn't be holding a gathering if I was so concerned about it. And if I was wanting to have my loved ones over, I certainly wouldn't want to be excluding someone for that reason!

Haha, that's pretty funny that the kids are using them like that!

I have family members who are, as you put it, Branch Covidians. I'm not close with them, so I don't know what they are doing for Thanksgiving, but I wouldn't put it past them to require covid status.

My mom has a legit reason with her cancer treatment to be worried, so I'm not stressed by it. We simply aren't getting together this year.

It sucks, but since there is no way I can stay isolated, that's all there is to it. My aunt will be going out to visit, but she can stay isolated being retired.

Actually, I know my mom is more worried about my sister's family where my brother-in-law works the penitentiary and none of them are vaccinated.

Get vaccinated and you cannot contract covid-19.

Considering that our drive takes us into Long Island, about the LAST place any sane person who values their free time/driving sanity wants to be during a holiday, and that hosts are all New York City folk, I was for a moment considering if I'd be upset about a positive test result.

So I wouldn't consider myself "better" than you in that regard.

The dig ^^^ about New York City folk, and them being the most loud, argumentative, rude people you; I was just making a poor joke, sorry about my poor "attempt at humor" (but not really).

We were looking forward to getting as many family members back for Thanksgiving but we too decided our Mom's health and recovery from her heart issues are paramount. This year just my sister, Mom, and I will enjoy a nice quiet Thanksgiving and give thanks that she is okay as our other family members who were sick earlier. We are very very thankful this year we know how lucky we are.

Who cares what CBS has to say? They are a lying liberal narrative rag. It’s not even news.

Whoever is asking family members for their papers on thanksgiving are communists and natzis.

That has to be some of the craziest nuttiest things I have seen on an American so called Monday morning NEWS show.

100% propaganda.

Not to mention even the so called vaxxed catch covid and spread it. Just utter nonsense.. clowns and dangerous clowns.

Not to mention ... I can imagine the scene:

You arrive at Grandpa Karl's and he comes out with the test to the garage and waits with you while you take it. You end up positive, so what does Grandpa Karl do? He's technically now been exposed, right?

That is funny, my daughter and her boyfriend are going to a cruise in December, they are fully twice jabbed, but the day before getting aboard the cruise they have to get test showing that they are both negative.

Now what in the heck is that, I told my daughter that the test rapid test are not reliable, she said that if she gets positive she will hop around until she gets a negative.

Is ridiculous.

Better be careful about all that.

My boss just got married. She and her husband are both vaxxed. He came down with COVID anyhow a month or two ago, and they were honeymooning in Jamaica. They had to test before they could fly out. Her first test came back positive, so there was some worry, but the retest came back negative, so they took off.

She just got back.

Come to find out that once they got there, they had a weekend and I don't know if she started having symptoms or what, but she ended up being tested again and *that* test came up positive. So they got put in quarantine at their resort for a full week before they would allow another test. This was past the date when they were due to get on a plane for home, but it didn't matter.

The room they got shoveled into was one of the smallest. Was full of medical equipment and overlooked the party pool bar. They were not themselves allowed any alcohol because she was "sick", so they could only watch others have fun, and there was loud DJ music being played from 10am to late at night so they couldn't even sleep if they wanted. Additionally, the TV only got 3 channels - two were audio only and the last was the game show network. She said she's never seen more Family Feud in all her life, and if she never, ever sees it again, it will be too soon!

There was a guard on their door. The one time they tried to leave, the guard made them go back.

So beware of traveling if you even think you might test positive.
