I would think the tattoo is more immediately achievable technology, and would be first, if at all.

But neither excursion into speculation deals with the fact that the COVID-19 vaccines are very specifically not the mark of the Beast as described in Revelation 13.

If one is going to entertain this train of thought, one thing that definitely isn't in Revelation is something like, "And barely anyone will fall for it. It will only affect a small number of people because the vast majority are wise to it."

Time and time again God forgave Israel for their worship of idols. Each time a judge would die, they would return to the same type of foolish behavior. Then God would raise up a foreign king to discipline and punish them for their evil deeds.
Then they would cry out to God, and repent their sins. He would have mercy, and raise up another judge to save them from their oppressor. They would do fine for a generation or so, then start the whole foolish cycle over again.

Sounds like a pretty forgiving God to me. A God of true love. Tough love. This is why Satan and his children hate God. There is an absence of light within them. That was/is, their choice.

God has his purpose for all that is. Even Satan. He uses Satan to test the metal of those he wants near him.

God works in mysterious ways to us but he knows what he wants. If, through free will, we do not measure up to his standards, that person is swept away, into the dust from which it came.

If the prophecy did not pertain to any time recent to when the book was written, how could the writer describe the mark? They did specify its location.

Well, firstly, the vaccine leaves no mark in most people, so there's that fairly glaring bit of incongruity.

Then there is the specific location of the mark on the body, in the forehead (μέτωπον - metópon) and in the right hand (δεξιός - dexios). Clearly the vaccines are not injected there.

It also says that 'the mark' is the name of the Beast, or the number of his name. There are multiple vaccines, they all have different names, and none of them are a name, or number, associated with any specific person.

The passage also reveals that the number (ἀριθμός - arithmos) of the Beast is a number of a man, and is six hundred sixty-six (χξϛ - chxs). How does that relate to any of the COVID-19 vaccines?

I don’t suppose it could have anything to do with the patent number by chance.
