They might not have tempered with it, but the chance of it infecting humans naturally in December 2019 to knock out Trump in election and put down Hong Kong protest is slim to none. These things don't just happen very frequently. It is far more likely it was released from lab intentionally than happening naturally.

They seem to be claiming this is a 'smoking gun':

So they were testing whether the naturally occurring SHC014-CoV SARS-like coronavirus (SL-COV) which infects horseshoe bats was capable of binding to a human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model. That's not gain of function research.

Testing if wild bat viruses can infect humans is scientifically responsible. It's how we detect zoonotic origins of viruses. It's kind of important to know which viruses can easily jump from wild animal to human.

That's entirely different from genetically manipulating a virus to extend its infectivity to other species - i.e. gain of function research.

But , do you know everything that went on there ?

I get your opinion, and cannot say i disagree in general. But I require some evidence. THus far, there isn't much evidence. There is smoke, but no fire.

I think there are things that can be proven, and need to be dealt with. Like Garlands letter about school boards, and his impartiality in the matter due to his family. This constant drone of "news" that is barely newsworthy kind of drowns out what matters.

Have we done anything with the Panama papers? How about Epsteins death? Wasn't there a more recent revelation regarding money accounts and shady dealings that got wholly ignored? But by all means, lets naval gaze about something we have no real information on, or keep rehashing an election that is 100% over and done.

I am holding on to the idea that there will be more damaging information coming out that will take down far more than Fauci, to me he is the fall guy, however everyone involved with this will be going down.

If this is true a full investigation needs to be started and then possible life in prison or if it was determined to have been done for more nefarious reasons and not a colossal accident then some knacks might be need to be stretched or some rifle men lined up for a few firing squads.

Of course not. But I'm not claiming the Wuhan lab did or didn't conduct gain of function research on coronaviruses using NIH funds.

The linked sources provided no evidence that the lab did this, just a bunch of journalists, republican senators and a biologist (who should no better) willfully, or through lack of scientific understanding, misinterpreting a document.

I have no dog in this race. If gain of function research was done l want to know about it. But claiming a document proves Fauci lied and the lab conducted GOF research when it doesn't is itself dishonest.

Rand Pauls referral to the DOJ is NOT an investigation. It also means there is no current investigation, as that would require a previous or earlier referral.
