As the tit for tat battle between Florida's Ron DeSantis' administration and Joe Biden's administration heats up putting in question the states right to control its own education system ; it turns out that date shows that mask mandates in schools do in fact work.

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, an independently-elected member of the Florida Cabinet, held a virtual press conference to release and discuss school district COVID-19 data which Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration has worked to block. This data shows clear evidence that school districts requiring masks resulted in up to four times lower COVID-19 cases per capita than school districts that did not require masks.

2.6 times lower student COVID-19 cases per capita in school districts starting the school year with mask requirements (Alachua, Broward, Miami-Dade) than school districts without mask requirementsSchool districts without mask requirements had nearly twice as many student COVID-19 cases as school districts requiring masksSchool districts without mask requirements, had nearly 3.5 times higher student COVID-19 peak cases per capita than school districts requiring mask.

If it is true that masks mandates in schools keep kids safer does that fact override state sovereignty? In our modern times is safty a more important virtue than personal freedom and parental choice?

No, it does not. State's right's are still state's rights whether you agree or not.

End of discussion.

Ah , maybe a YEAR AGO this Might have been an Uninformed Issue about " Saftey " , but NOW it has been Exsposed as just another Manipulation of the Public for Obvious Nefarious Reasons by the Medical Tyranny of Governmental Agencies . America ia a Country of Laws , and Laws Determine What We Can and Cannot Do , Not Petty Tyrantical Propaganda Arms of the Marxist Socialists who have Infiltrated into our Government and Learning Institutions . Sooner or Later when the Majority of American People Finally " Wake The Hell Up " , this Tyranny will be Addressed in Force .

Yet Broward County schools alone shows that they still have reported approximately 3,000 positive cases of Covid since the school year started.

I know my belief, but I'd like to ask you a question.

Has there ever been a time in human history where freedoms that were taken have been given back once the reason they were taken was gone?? Without riots and protests??

I'm not a history buff but I honestly can't recall any. I understand the desire for safety but every freedom we're losing may never return without a fight, which is why people are fighting now to keep them before they're gone.

If masks actually work, it's stupid at this point to force kids to wear them. Kid's were never really at risk from covid. Considering the vaccines don't really prevent spread nor infection, the best course of action is to let all the kids get infected and gain superior natural immunity.

Cases =/= deaths. Most kids won't even know they had it and if they do, it's the sniffles.

Our district has just DROPPED Masked mandates, it's all "Encouraged", but if cases go up, they will bring back the Mandates.

So, one report out of FL isn't an indicator of anything, at this point, our Rights are exactly what we're standing on because that's Legal and ON PAPER, literally.

Wasn't it established back in 1865 that states have no sovereignty or rights unless first approved by Washington? 😅

This is more manipulated and made-up data because there's no proof any of the reports are real and verified 🤣

Lots of jealous liars spread all over the place.

The data can be found at this link

Broward does have a high positive number but per capita it is still much lower then districts that did not require masks.

During the Stanley cup finals in Montréal, thousands upon thousands of unvaccinated and unmasked people assembled together to "party" in hope the Habs won, around the Bell Center. And gosh, they were ALL standing up, chanting, yelling and giving each others accolades!

The cases never soared because of that.

But the 50 people who had a party in a private property? Holly Molly Shirley! These maniacs really made covid soar with almost 50 more cases! The health system is on the verge of collapsing because of that!

First time in my life that I see a virus discerning politics in people, because the infections seem to be based on politics.
It's like corona is the king of the viruses, and it wants feodality back!

Go figure. Well, don't actually, journalists and politicians know more about everything than you do. So, OBEY!

There must be a balance. Freedoms come with responsibilities. The problem is that there is a significant percentage of people who are too damn stupid to realize this.
I despise power-tripping control freaks who want to impose their will on others, but I also despise people who think they can do whatever they want, with zero courtesy or regard for others, because "it's a free country."

Is this like how the mandates imposed by KCMO and Jackson Co are "working" even though almost the entire state is mask free and people are freely traveling all over the metro where many places are mask free and cases are falling at pretty much the same rate all over?

Sorry to break it to you but your childs safety doesn't override my childs freedom.

If people are so concerned about this virus then they should be quarantined. Because masks and vaccines will not fix this there is plenty of data to back up that statement as well.

Here's what the Congressional Research Service says about it:

"The Congressional Research Service’s guidance concludes that the ability of the President or Congress to mandate mask wearing is similar tp the federal government’s limited power to mandate Covid-19 vaccines.

In general terms, a federal mask mandate can be ordered for people and property directly under the federal government’s jurisdiction. While no specific federal law exists about mask mandates, public health laws empower the executive branch to make rules “to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the States or possessions, or from one State or possession into any other State or possession.” Congress also has powers under the Spending Clause and Commerce Clause to influence state mask mandates by providing financial incentives or regulating some interstate business activities.

However, the President or Congress can exercise considerable powers at ports of entry to the United States. Currently, the Transportation Security Administration requires masks on airplanes and other forms of public transportation, with limited exceptions.....

The States and Mask Mandates

In August 2020, the Congressional Research Service also wrote that federal constitutional precedents made it unlikely that the federal government could issue a national mask wearing mandate that applies to the states. The 10th Amendment’s anti-commandeering provision bars “the federal government from commandeering or requiring state officers to carry out federal directives. This principle thus prevents Congress from requiring states or localities to mandate masks,” the CRS concluded. Another reality is that the federal government may be unable to enforce a national mask mandate due to the sheer scope of such an action on a state and local level."
