Except for the fact that they don't stop transmission of viruses because the particles are smaller than the mask . It's not about health it's about compliance. These surgical masks were invented to stop droplets from getting into people's cut-open bodies during surgery. That's why it's not called an antiviral mask, it's called a surgical mask. They are not a hazmat suit.

Why else would many workplaces require you to wear one when you are up from your workstation/desk , yet not while sitting? And yet the same week have a potluck or a catered lunch with all of the employees eating together for an hour in the same damn room.
Total nonsense.

Before this plandemic I was already wearing a mask.I have
asthma that is triggered by an allergy to perfume.I only had
to wear my mask when exposed to an overload of scent.Now,
I wear my mask to protect myself from those who got the jab.

Enjoy that liberty while it lasts. Here you don't go to any restaurant without certificate and you have to put on a mask to go to the quiet place... No one cares but if controlled there would be fines.

No museum, no library, no sport events, nothing without a certificate, and a mask!

I've been walked out from the equivalent of wallmart for not wearing a mask and refusing to buy one.

Cashier telling me that if there would be a control she would get fired for attending someone without mask. My money kind of does not count without a mask.....

I agree no one forced me, but the peer pressure put on the cashier, in this example, is what I think is worrisome. It will not end well if we let this dynamic play out...

Mostly I don't wear a mask unless i get tired of the struggle, not with other mask wearer but with authority. when they rolled out the first mask mandate people would police eachother, not anymore.
Only the bullies insist on complying with this madness. It's a nonviolent bully's wet dream...

But lets not care about it.

Apparently you do have to show proof of vaccination at some larger events, but no mandatory wearing of masks.

Guess that's due to such a high percentage of the population being jabbed.

I have recently been to a comedy gig (Jimmy Carr) no proof of vaccine or masks, I have been on a pub crawl from bar to bar no masks or proof required at any door, it was great to see young people out again doing what they should

and to think we have seen the UK called the nanny state many times on this website

1.) The UK is fully open. I had no idea. Congrats!
2.) Jimmy Carr is still alive. That's even more shocking, to be honest.

Edit to ask: Do know know if you need a negative test or Covid passport to enter the country from the US? We have like US$2k in airline credits from cancelled trips last year...

This could be flipped around almost the same way. People are sick of unmasked idiots walking around spitting on everything.

Is there a chance the gov't is full of crap? Sure.
Is there a chance me wearing a mask is entirely pointless? Yes.
Is there a chance me wearing a mask could save someone a hospital visit? Sure.

It really isn't that hard to show some humanity and err on the side of caution instead of pretending that you can't breathe through a mask just so you feel like you didn't get your freedom taken away. How insecure are you anyways?

I have been on two ventilators. Not very cool so please help and do your part as a human that wants us to succeed and maybe do your part. Kinda part being a true American or even human.

Do you comply with the seat belt law, or not driving intoxicated, driving on the right side of the road, etc. I could go on forever.

Thank you for the response. I will 'do me' ...well I Would 'do me' but I don't have enough sexual organs for that nor the flexibility but I do appreciate the response. Just trying to lighten the mood.

Anyway why were you on two ventilators? Did you catch Covid? Did you have a bad pneumonia? My wife was on a ventilator with pneumonia when she was a kid. It screwed up her heart permanently.
Why would they switch you from one to the other? Did you catch it twice? So many questions as in almost two years I only know 2 people that have supposedly gotten it and none died. One was super obese.

How long did you wait before symptoms appeared before getting treatment?
Had you been taking any prophylaxis before your 'diagnosis?'
How open was your GP to therapeutic treatments like when we 'used' to get normal colds, such as antibiotics, antivirals, steroids, vitamins etc? If those weren't taken perhaps it wouldn't have led to you being on two ventiliators. Not trying to be a dick, just tired of all this fighting about mostly Nothing.

I went on each different times. I the first times fell down and not able to breath properly. I barely have a memory of my falling down. I was in my hallway trying to make it my bathroom. I failed and fell on the floor. At the time I had my mother with me as I was not doing well. I also have testicular cancer which has caused many other issues.
Covid realy almost did me in. I increased my ZINC intake aloso I was in the middle of immunotherapy.
So I am not a doctor nor have a degree in such the area but the maks seems like a reasonable thing to do.
I am sure I will get more hate msg.

2. Do you think that perhaps your cancer could have lead to your collapse? Is that out of the realm of possibility?
3. My dad died of cancer and he was also chronically short of breath and I think his cpap needs had a lot to do with this, or put another way were a symptom of this. . Way before covid ..well only 4 or so years.
4. Do/did you smoke? I mean moderately or heavily without quitting?

To be perfectly honest I will say yes cancer has had a huge impact in how my body reacted to covid.
To me that is the only thing that makes sense.
But for those select few that do have other issues could we please at least do the small things?

Liquid does catch onto those micro particles. So yes it can stop things like some talk or sneezes but it can't stop the majority of particles.
And even if it did it wouldn't be a viral load large enough to kill someone, as they need exposure over a long period of time like hours, not walking by someone on the street.
Most of the particles are not attached to droplets they are expelled into the air, ie an airborne disease.

This virus has not even been isolated.
It is a new cold virus.

Yes people have died but you as a thinking person I know realise how most if not all of the deaths were from other causes.
My own liberal fuk off county changed their metrics three times. Why? to make it seem scarier.
First it was deaths from covid. then they were forced due to outcry and data to change to deaths 'with' covid. and NOW lol they have stopped reporting people that have recovered and stop reporting people are cases but not sick.

the whole 'case' count is bogus.
