In Surprising Reversal, England Drops Vaccine Passport Plan

I've realised lately that although Boris is an utter bellend he's actually doing a pretty good job of this all things considered.

Not a good job maybe but certainly handling it better than I expected and I will give him credit for that.

Or at least give credit to nanny for telling him what to do and who to listen to.

It wasn't meant to sound disappointed, and I don't speak for the government.
I was commenting as an observer trying to assess political realities.
Though I can't help thinking that among the great libertarian issues of history, "we want to go to the pub" is a little trivial in the grand scale of things.It was just ironic.

Ahh fair enough because some people like that O’Brien creep from talk radio really want vaccine passports..

The goal of vaccine passports is meant to coerce more people into getting a covid jab. The talk of introducing it into nightclubs and events was to encourage particularly younger people who have have resisted for the most part to get one. What’s happened is the owners of these establishments have said they won’t enforce and legally can’t because it breaks descrimination laws.

It comes after British lawmakers across the political spectrum voiced strong opposition to the plans this week.

That will be the real reason the government backed down.

As for it being trivial I disagree, it’s baby steps, boiling frogs and all that. Many question where does it end and where is ultimately going?

I've just told my 18 year old stepdaughter that vaccine passports for nightclubs were only ever a scare tactic to get the younger ones to get the Vax.

She just laughed and said it worked like a dream.
