i don't know how i should feel about this...

This girl was saling a toy 3 wheeler that was workable. We exchanged money and toy. Brought it home and plugged it in. It doesn't work. Tried different outlet. Left it plugged in over night. Didn't work. I gave her 30$ when she was asking 25$.

me: i was just going to give 25 cash. i don't have lot to trade.

me: the 3 wheeler doesn't work
her: it has to my daughter just used it yesterday
it was dead and needed to be charged.
me:i plugged it in and tried but nothing maybe i did it wrong?

(she didn't respond for 2-3 days. I only got her attention by post on a post she made in the group)
me: if you give back the toy. Could you give back 25 and keep the 5$ tip.
her: my husband said it should be working lol we were just using it. i wouldn't of sold it if it wasn't working.
me: i can't get it to work. Tried 3 outlets nothing happening.

me:how am i rude when you gave me a broken toy and making excuses to not give moneyt back (lower than i gave). You acceopt the deal with cash for a working toy. I gave a 5$ tip and i asked for money back. You can try resaling it or fix it.
her: no thank you. i dont want it back it was working perfectly fine before it left as you can see in the video. i dont need to explain myself

her: you sent pictures of cords. That means nothing. You probably aren't doing it right like i said before. enough is enough
me:that where the problem is. the cord, the wires. Not the bike itself.
her: cord look perfectly fine
me: that doens't mean cord run good because it appears good. for all we know it could be the battery8, motor or other electrical problems.

TLTR: Bought a toy 3 wheeler that was advertised as working. Brought it home. Plugged it in 3 different outlets. Didn't work. Tried to get my money back but seller refuses to give back.

Im bit upset :/ I don't know what to think right now.... Was i in the wrong?

Buyer beware.

When you buy used / from a non-retailer you generally take the item as is.

You buy stuff sold as seen and with zero warranty. Yeah, it sucks when you buy something and it doesn’t work, but that’s the joys of buying used online without any type of returns policy.

I’ve bern doing a lot of buying online (Facebook mostly) and I always expect there to be a problem with it (even though I’ve been pretty lucky so far). Just the way it is.

I always look at the sellers rating when I want to buy something.

It is only 30 bucks. Lesson learned.

Put it on a charger overnight.
Those take at least 8 hrs to charge.
Then biatch about it.
Unless it's a huge charger..it's a trickle charger

Yep, probably an easy fix.

Could be a loose wire or a bad connection somewhere.

I wouldn't give up that easy.

You might not get your money back but maybe you can fix the 3 wheeler. I would start with checking if it has a bad fuse on the 3 wheeler, maybe under the seat, have you looked for one? Then check if it is a bad cord or bad battery. Do you have a voltmeter to check the cord set is giving proper voltage or if the amps on the battery are high enough?

Who in their right mind buys second-hand electrical items without first seeing them working? I wouldnt buy anything like that until ive seen it plugged in and charging

My son fixes stuff like this all the time. He just taught himself to do it.

He found a 65" LCD TV in a dumpster once, brought it home and opened it up. A $12usd electronic part was burned out. He ordered it on eBay, soldered it in place and now has a 65" TV that cost him $12.00usd.

I sold something electronic to somebody once. I think it was a wireless invisible dog fence, if I recall correctly. It was working right up to the moment we sold it. I even showed the guy. We were moving away from town and didn't need it any more.

A few days later, he calls and says it's not working. I can't remember exactly what the issue was; maybe it wasn't charging. I was pretty sure it was a user issue as he described it to me. We, however, had already left town. I tried to explain proper protocol to him, don't know if he ever figured it out.
