A vaccine is an attempt to goose the immune system into producing the proper antibodies to ward off/prevent the illness in question.

And we should thankful for that because no one wants rabies.

I've got no idea where you are going with this.

You'll have to hit me with the killer blow or I'm just baffled.

Update....she is now going to the ER. Symptoms have gotten worse.

For those that asked....double jab, 2nd one was 9 days ago.

Her son tested negative and our daughter tested negative. Son has had the first dose and daughter is too young.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to her

I made a point in how stupid this all is. All guidelines contradict each other, cant do this cant do that, can do this can do that, before you know what happens you are sitting in a very crowded area watching football in another country, meanwhile the chimney man cant come over and clean your fireplace because havent you heard?

Its a PANDEMIC!, then faint dramatically, aaand scene.

Clownworld.

(true story by the way, about the football and chimneys)

In some parts of the world, it does, and it's something I'd wish on no one. Husband worked for a time in the state rabies testing lab. I'm glad the rabies vaccine prevents infection and doesn't just "reduce symptoms".

I've still got no idea what you are trying to convey.

I'd give up if I was you as the chimney man football match is going right over my head now.

It's also possible to give it after infection which is also very good.

I'd like to point out that it's not a single shot wonder and needs 3 shots.

Some people think the covid jabs needing multiple shots is something new and it's really not.

Let me break it down for you, because there is a deadly virus, i can go watch football in to another country, you know the hassle, tiny spaces, crowed planes, and so on.

But its not ok that the chimney man comes over to my house to clean out the fireplace, no sir absolutely not, the government has decided the chimney man can not do his job, because he might end up being a superspreader.

Logically if you get vaxed it buys some time before the vax wears off over time that's why you need all the booster shots. So after a couple of weeks, you are fully protected so much that you can get it, spread it, and not feel a thing, Providing you don't succumb to the side effects and seek help. But after a while when its efficacy wears off if you don't take the boosters your back to square one the perfect scam.

Are you saying that you'd like to have your chimney swept but current pandemic restrictions in your country prevent this from happening?

Same here.

Some things are best left to the professionals.

It's only about £40 over here and that's not unreasonable.

When they tell you the vax is 80% or 50% effective what do they mean?

Is it 80% effective at decreasing transmission or 80% effective at causing less severe symptoms?
