I like grocery shopping without being bothered, so I wear a mask. I also like having a job, so I wear a mask at work. I am a sheeple.

you do you, and we will do us, and everything will be everything.

Yep.

That’s exactly what was proven.
It’s the ole “you can’t tell me what to do, cuz I’m smarter than you” syndrome.

Meanwhile a large scale study in Bangladesh shows even surgical masks can slow the contagion.

Mask study

Who is us?
And why do we have to do all the work for your sheeples?
I remember when the mask wearers were called sheep, and now the MAGAbeasts are taking livestock medicine.

Laughing stockyard!

More like "you can't tell me what to do, because though you may think you know what's better for me, you don't.

And I will agree not to tell you what to do either."

The question is, will you draw the line somewhere, at any point? Or would you be willing to, for example, get some sort of "mark" so that you can go shopping without being bothered?

Where I work has made a mask part of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is required. When I got my job, I signed a contract, part of it was that I would abide by ALL PPE requirements, so I wear a mask. Otherwise I do NOT. We have a local chain of grocery stores that require masks, so I don't shop there.

That is not a working model for controlling contagions.
I mean it’s cool if people don’t believe in germ theory.
Just stay home though. Responsible people are tired of doing the heavy lifting.

are you of the theory that you are somehow better than others since you are vaccinated and wear masks?

Is every surgeon on the planet good enough of a review ?
Or are you saying a barrier for reducing the spread of respiratory droplets is a bad idea?

Would a peer review change you mind?

Not at all, maybe more empathy towards others that might have a more negative outcome from covid.

But your question is interesting. Is that a common thought?
That mask wearing, vaccinated people think they are better. Cause they do the right things?

I've never been bothered anywhere by not wearing a mask. It may have bothered others, but that, again, never bothered me either.

I tend to respect the businesses where I choose to spend my money. If the pro-shop at my golf club says "Masks are mandatory inside the premises," I will comply, because they are an entity I respect, following a provincial mask mandate, and I personally don't see the request as unreasonable. I'm pretty empathetic towards service employees, and I would be putting some kid in an awkward situation by disobeying the business' policy. I'm not the type to piss on a counter.

I always laughed at the mask mandate people, California, ny, New Jersey had strict lockdowns and mandates and yet we're at the top of the list case wise and deaths for most of this pandemic.

Fair question. I would opt not to download an app showing my vaccination status. Definitely not getting a tattoo. So the line for me is somewhere between a mask and an app. Although my aversion to phone apps is kinda arbitrary since the gov't already uses our cells phones to track us, record calls, read texts, view pictures, and analyse data with machine learning/AI.

spacedoubt,

Are you saying that humans should all be wearing surgical masks so as to reduce the spread of respiratory droplets is a GOOD idea?

just curious

Klassified,

The AMA has stated that masks are BAD for kids and that we should stop forcing them to wear masks.

Ever see them playing in masks? If you could measure the amount of carbon dioxide being re-inhaled, reducing brain cell formation, you'd realize It's child abuse.

Millions of parents will be asking why their child is "slower" than they should be in a few years. Pitiful.

I have empathy for all people who fall severely ill of any illness, any time. It's a shame to lose one's health and a terrible ordeal for the sufferer and for his/her family. This is one sad part of life, and I personally take all reasonable measures to mitigate my impact on anyone's health around me.

I also have empathy for:
the millions of people who in 2020 lost their homes, livelihoods, job, lost crucial income for retirement, lost education time, lost opportunities to detect other health problems, lost time with relatives, lost crucial development time (for children), lost a year of sports (health), lost an opportunity to leave a home where they're stuck with an abuser, lost their life due to suicide or drug or alcohol overdoses (spurred by the above and an increase in mental health crises), etc etc etc.

There's a lot more to health than what Fauci and CO has to offer.

Yeah, definitely reasonable. Their house, their rules, as it should be. I just made effort to not support businesses with those rules in effect.

carewemust,

Exactly. The children AND the adults have been subjected to breathing carbon dioxide for HOURS on end.

I recall hearing one study that identified a menagerie of pathogens after just a couple of hours....
