The company that manufacturers it looks real enough to me.

Ivamectin is a common medicine in small animal and bird treatments for all kinds of parasites.

I order it online and it's not a veterinary prescription item in the doses for small animal.

The same for horses as well but in doses for 700kg horses. You can see how error in dosage can occur. That's without factoring in the different physiology of a horse and a human I guess.

I wouldn't call it a dangerous alternative, ineffective? maybe, maybe not, but Ivermectin is safer than aspirin and many doctors around the world have been prescribing it to folks. Call it what it is, It's Ivermectin, calling it horse de-wormer is just misleading people into thinking it's made specifically just for horses and there very well may be de-wormers specifically for horses but the meds people are taking is called Ivermectin. Just because its marketed as a horse de-wormer, it doesn't mean it is harmful to humans. For example, Ketamine is typically used as a sedative in felines but also used in humans for certain treatments.

I know I know, just turn off the TV once in a while, this is ATS for gods sake, we're better at not allowing the brainwash machine to get us, so I thought.

You are right, the article does sensationalize some of the aspects of the medicine. AND, I do agree that all options should be properly evaluated to determine if they have a benefit combating this bloody virus. If it works great! If it doesnt, we need to move on.

I think the only blamed which can be apportioned is to the fool which took horse worm medicine, whether you are pro vaxx or anti vaxx there should still be an understanding about taking medicines which are for horses and not humans. The media frenzy reporting "Livestock wormer" is disingenuous. Merck makes all the world's ivermectin. The only difference is the dosage. 63 studies have shown positive results, it's heavily used in India for COVID-19. The counterpoint obviously is it didn't work out for this dude. But he died free, thinking for himself so there's that.
