First one I ever had was while I was also experiencing benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. The combination scared the hell out of me and I really thought I was about to die. Ended up just being two harmless conditions that happened to coincide.

Yup, I've had this and was seriously the scariest thing I've ever experienced.

Symptoms of an Eye Parasite
If you are infected with worms that have lodged in your eye, you may not even know it. If you experience any symptoms, they could include:

Redness or inflammation in or around the eye.
Recurring pain.
Visual problems that can include blurry vision, sensitivity to light, visual loss, or the presence of floaters in the field of vision.
Scarring of the retina.
Excessive production of tears or discharge from the eyes.
A visible parasite in the eye.
There are several different types of parasitic worms that can lodge in your eye.

Some of the parasites mentioned here are very rare the United States. Others may be encountered in food from the areas where these parasites are indigenous, such as fish or meat products from other countries.

I can't seem to insert your quotes but thanks for everyone's reply! I took to asking in the forum as I don't like to go outside the house atm due to large cases of Covid delta virus and fully occupied hospitals atm where I live. So I won't be able to get MRIs / CT scans.

It seems @ThatDamnDuckAgain maybe right about synesthesia as I looked it up right now.

The visual overlays is usually triggered when waking up and in low light conditions. In near pitch-black conditions, the wriggly black string overlays is replaced by seeing luminous dots around objects and these luminous dots will also appear in the direction of an object making a sound in extremely quiet conditions. The audio visualization can happen even if my eyes are closed and can appear like balls of lightning

The slightest sound in very quiet room when I'm sleeping will jolt me awake because due to sensory overload.

I did have headaches every now and then. Sometimes migraines with visual aura but the migrain aura looks a lot different and the visual overlays I'm seeing doesn't come with a headache.

Worst case scenario, I might have brain tumor. Can't really find out atm due to healthcare crisis and rampant Delta variant. I have my full shots already but still.

One last thing,I didn't have these visual overlays before. It seems they are becoming more frequent and more intense. The most complex overlays I've experienced is seeing text overlays over objects. The words displayed is always correct. It happens rarely. The most common overlay is the black strings, almost every night. They look really spook as they can resemble spiders and I have arachnophobia!

I would still see a doctor as others wrote it could be something easy fixable but horrible if you don't act. Don't rest on what I wrote, this is an internet board you should scrutinize every input you get.

If it's audio-visual synesthesia you would have had that experience for all your life. That's contradicting my idea, just noticed.

You prefer having a possible brain tumor you won't check on because you are afraid of COVID? You are fully vaccinated? COVID won't turn you into a vegetable with high chances, a brain tumor however, does.

Fear is the worst counselor, don't listen to it.

100% of my ocular migraines were without an actual headache!
That’s what freaked me out.
I do believe you should get checked out. I took my parents to 200++++ appointments at the hospital, at the nursing homes at the height of Covid, none of us got it. I was feet from ICU patients being incubated… never caught it.

When I was with my mom in the ICU there was a ruckus in the room a few doors down. We simply asked the nurse what was going on and she told us. We sat in our room and just watched. That was a really weird experience.

They did just that in a hospital specialized on Neurology. Encephalosomething(however it was called)-EEG, sensory tests, they drove me into an MRT for a head scan first. Different memory and recognition tests, some IQ tests done by a psychologist, not a funky website. They also took spinal water that was clear.

There was no diagnosis in that sense, because Synesthesia is not a sickness. Read up on it. They even wanted to team me up with a company looking for people like me. They were developing a ball like device for stroke victims, with color, sound and haptic feedback. I did not contact them because I had other important things to do.

I have it black on white here, I even have a list with results what senses come together the most statistical, it's from the EEG data. The silicone net with the wet electrodes, yuck, I had to travel back with the jelly still in my hair.

All due respect, but those are excuses, nothing more. Weak ones at that. I don't think your local ophthalmologist or optometrist's offices are overwhelmed with Covid Delta cases. You don't have to run out an get an MRI first, there are other things you can look into to rule out what your condition is not. Your fear of getting Delta by going out, especially considering you already have the jabs, is irrational.

Sitting on your butt typing on the interwebz is easy. Getting up off that butt, going out and seeking out professional care is more difficult. Delta has nothing to do with it. If you sit here long enough someone will give you the diagnosis you're apparently looking for...that your affliction is some ethereal condition caused by the alignment of the stars, alien worm holes in the Universe and Grey's practicing voodoo on you in your sleep. None of these will make your condition any better, but it might at least give you piece of mind so you don't get as freaked out about the black worms eating your couch! Go see a professional...now! Stop making excuses.

Former EMT 1 here also. If you presented with the symptoms you describe above we would have transported you for further tests. One of the known side effects of the vaccines is blood clotting. Blood clotting in the brain can be serious, even deadly. You yourself just said your symptoms got markedly worse after the vaccines. Could be a mild stroke, or a tumor, or early stage Glaucoma, or any number of about 500 different things. Could be as simple as a vitamin imbalance, but you won't know until you...go...get...it...checked...out!

Seeing a trend here yet?

Oh, and welcome. I hope you're here and visually able to participate for a while.

Dots of light? Could it be as simple as high blood pressure?
I always see them when I stare at the clouds or rather up without focusing. These are fast like tiny flies of light appearing for a split of a second, not moving in straight lines. It makes sense because light is electromagnetic energy and it excites the eyes and even the brain.
I questioned their nature from childhood. Atoms? Photons? My own brain electricity? I think they are rather on the way from the eye to the brain because I could see them with eyes closed as I remember.

It could be just lack of some B vitamin or mineral. If you are not a Japanese there's a good chance you are iodine deficient, craving iodine sprinkled table salt and having high blood pressure because of that 😀 Doctors used to use iodine in grams which is like 100k times more than today's recommended daily dose good enough only to keep you from dying.
BTW people floating in sensory deprivation tanks see things in the dark too. Brain alone makes up intense colorful hallucinations. You can actually try it with some white or rather brown noise track and paper eyeglasses with a light source in the front and open eyes. You'll start hearing voices and see things. There is a good thread about white noise auditory hallucinations over here. I may be able to find it in my posts as I use to dominate and overload them 🙂 This thread starts looking like it's about me too 😎

I too had those stuck to my hair during same as an 8-9 yr old. Strange nighttime testing in old building downtown Detroit...lights of city looking down.

Never forgot that night.

At that time, was it already visible on live screen?

They let me watch it briefly as I had the idea of a feedback loop but since the synesthesia with visuals only trigger when I observe pain in others, I get the memory response too, it was not much of use. Pictures don't work, video do but seeing it live gave the best results.

We had loads of fun testing out when I would be able to pick that up though. Most fascinating was for me it wears off for a single person, when overdone, and needs time to be sensitive again.

Listening to music was a firework they said but I could not see it, I had my eyes closed. Your initial worry about it being something else with me is wholesome but unnecessary

Okay complete different reason and settings, that was a bit insensitive from me to ask.

Reminds me about the time in transfer-ICU after an accident I had in my youth. Transfer-ICU is what we call it here when you're conscious already but still need intense care and monitoring systems.

They let me remove some clamps myself

Each one I pulled out was like getting a bit closure. One thing less attached to my body. Sounds dumb but I think you know what I mean.

Did you get the jab lately?
