So my best guess is there will continue to be both republican and democrat presidents and Congress to keep the illusion that we the people have influence. This is because there is less likelihood of a revolt without any real cost to the bigger goals.

They do fear losing the House and Senate again, which is why they'll cheat again. There's a lot of sentiment for both to go Republican in 2022. They won't allow that to happen.
