Just for clarification, my interest in the fields of genetics and biology, stems mainly from some practical work I did in X-Ray crystallography of DNA and other biochems, while at uni.

My core credentials are in physics and astronomy.

My current work is more of a technical and management role, so I'm not even really active as a scientist. But my office sits within 20 feet of two biochem labs at the company where I work, and I often have crossover projects that require me to work there in those labs. This means I have a day-to-day exposure to biochemists, their equipment, and processes.

For instance, when they buy a new bit of kit for the labs, I usually have to read up on it, and install it. A lot of it is computerized these days and so I end up building servers, and configuring networking for databasing and reporting on the results. And, of course, if readings are inconsistent, or incomplete, or if error margins are widening, I am called upon to fault find and fix.

I'd prefer if you learnt about politics and realised how ludicrous the claims are. You seem a pretty smart guy capable of making well thought out arguments and points - the false dem supporter/fascism claims don't do you justice.

Am fairly well versed in U.S. politics.

Am using fascist and CCP to make point and open eyes for the blind.

Would you prefer I use same kind of completely unrelated and sometimes vile insults that democrats have used against republicans for past 12 years?

They are ad hom, and meaningless.

While fascist and CCP are at least partially accurate right now.

Forces eye opening realizations and admissions if 'opponent' wants to engage in meaningful debate here.

Well, I did contribute serious and sensible posts earlier in the thread that explained how masks function to reduce the spread of COVID-19, by reducing the velocity of exhalations, but also, masks won't filter out out virus particles because a virus is too small. Which makes the protective function of a mask somewhat one-way. I also explained that the combined use of multiple precautions against COVID-19 at the same time (like having vaccines and using masks as well) would speed the attenuation of the epidemic. This was, I believe entirely on topic.

But when people began responding, not to my posts, but to some preconceived notion of who they thought I am, and what they thought my political affiliations may be, then I started ridiculing them, through asking questions that will get them to think about the nature of their beliefs.

Usually, when I post something humorous or sarcastic, I utilize the symbol to flag that, for those who are not easily amused.

And ATS is, after all, a social network. Where people discuss things. Humour is not inappropriate. Definitely others who post here often use nonsensical and off-topic memes, sometimes as their only input to a topic thread.
