This has been going on a long time, there's a few domesticated crops that are at risk. Vineyards around the world were almost wiped out in the mid to late 1800's, especially old world vines.

On the bright side we've got plenty of ways to deal with vulnerabilities when it comes to crops, there's plenty of other wild bananas other than the cavendash too. Cost is always going to be the main issue with the banana we love, it's actually possible to graft them but the risk of infection means hydroponics would be the only way... Maybe we can splice em with honey badger DNA? Those things are indestructible.

I always wondered where you lived - not in a creepy way or anything. just wanted to get to know you more.
That’s awesome you live in Hawaii.
I’m up in northern Ontario.
The wife and I were just discussing that winter will be here in less than 3 months.... then it’s 8 months of frigid stupidity and cold.
Today was brutal hot though. 41 c on my back deck. (104 f)
Hawaii for the winter sound wonderful.
