McAfee Deadman Switch?

Kind of shocked that from what I was able to see, no one has brought this up..

Site takes a while to load. But at the moment of writing this, there is a 4 hour 30 min countdown remaining, and using the wayback machine, I found the website was taken down briefly and the template changed around a few times.

Currently, a picture is uploaded, hashtag $WHACKD, mentioning a 'secure live video uplink' starting in 4 hours 30 min.

Some folks mentioned that the picture was of a diamond mine in Sierra Leone called Koidu Diamond Mine. They went on to make accusations that the company that owns the mine, Koidu Limited, has ties to Alan Dershowitz and George Soros. The link was Koidu Limited is a subsidiary of OCTEA, who is in turn (OCTEA) owned by BSG Resources Limited.

So this brought me to simpler google searches.

The links are actually real... But doing more research on the term "britbong", is apparently a derogatory word used in the United Kingdom. This is also a name of a gaming podcaster that goes around trolling people online. Not sure of the coincidence there, but was worth mentioning. Anyway, I won't spend too much time on this until the counter hits 0 and we see what's on the other side of the curtain. I'll give more detail tomorrow after digging into that mine a little more and the ties, but I'll keep it simple tonight.

So...4 hours remaining. I'm on empty, and have to pull another 16 hour shift tomorrow. But damn it, I sure want to know at the stroke of 00:00:00 what it is.

If you don't hear an update in 4 1/2 hours, I'm sleeping like a baby zzzz

Okay my anxiety and excitement couldn't hold for 10 minutes. I definitely confirmed that the picture on the website is infact the Koidu Diamond mine. Here is a image I s/s from my own google earth, you can confirm

Took ~45 seconds to load the page for me. "I'll let other people tell me about it"

Dang, that's right at midnight my time. I'm usually up until then, but feel a bit tired tonight. Don't know if I'll make it. Hope so. I'd like to see what (if anything) shakes out of that tree.

I've been following this, sites legit, but popped up a day after his murder. I know that some research was posted on reddit. Does not seem promising. But I'll stay up to see it hit zero out of curiosity.

Smells of complete BS to me. Someone like McAfee would have made sure his hosted site would not get overloaded or hacked or only be hosted on a single site....
