Only priests wore underpants.
David wasn't a priest
so whenever his skirts flew up while dancing in public...

His wife didn't appreciate it much.

You seem not to be looking for the God of the Bible that much is clear.

Perhaps you missed my point, or perhaps I didn't convey it correctly. "God of the Bible"... Can you define that?

I agree, you can love God and feel his love, even without scripture, however you still need to study scripture and prayer. This is to strengthen your faith and help you convince others to be saved.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success"
- Joshua 1:8 ESV

"But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect"
- 1 Peter 3:15 ESV

They don't read that perversely in my KJV Bible.

I respectfully disagree. Admittedly I had to just now look them up in a KJV as I am not to familiar with it, and the overall meaning was identical, with only a few words here and there having difference, and from my understanding they were only linguistic differences. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, just stating that the Bible in any translation does convey an importance on study, not that it's a salvation issue or anything, but more of a wisdom issue. I am not saying that you'll go to hell for not having an encyclopedic knowledge of scripture, lol.

I don't care what the "meaning is" that is subjective.

I care WHAT IT SAYS!

That is far more important than what some wannabe god translator thinks it MEANS! Or what some High Falootin' inbred stuff shirt Elitist Christian Scholar says it teaches.

Fair enough. I do agree that everyone should read it for themselves, and I'd go as far as to recommend varying translations to improve accuracy. I've actually written an article on how the early distribution was similar to modern Blockchain.

King David had nine wives, so whatever the underwear.

It was all about kingship. Michal, daughter of the late King Saul, was cursed to have no children after getting pissed at David for exposing himself to all the slave girls. That's the story anyway.

Its the choice of faith. Do I believe in god? No. Its too undefined. My definition of god is certainly different than anyone else's. That's natural. Do I have faith? Absolutely.

Choose a lane or get off the road. It seems like you're saying your particular god from the Bible of your choosing is correct.

I'm saying I enjoy reading many religious texts and find them to be more or less identical, minus the dogmatic crap.

So when you say, "what it says", what is it and why is it more significant than the rest of the mostly similar its with different names?

Seek and you shall find. Why is it against your god to seek? Do you understand my point? When I call it your god, I'm playing with the concept you may or not be thinking I'm even describing a different god. Thus, the request to define your god.

Are you not translating for scripture by claiming your views are true, when others may personally interpret them differently?

Regardless of what we believe about it, there is only one true God of gods who will prevail in the end. What you call it does not matter. Let's settle on a generalized term, "God of Abraham" which most (75%) people in the world will accept. It has stated how it wishes to be served and what will happen if people choose not to, so the only debate is which version of which text. However many versions have smaller differences with common themes. Follow the salvanic issues, apart from that, believe what ever you want. You can think the earth is flat for all I care as long as you know the truth of Jesus Christ and the blood sacrifice to cover the sin of anyone who will confess their sins (to God), turn away from their sins, and do their best to follow his commands in the future.

So, I'm in the locker-room.

Everything hurts - just how dudes like it.

But belold somebody left a magazine.

Tomorrow's World. (June, 2021).

You know, i sometimes suspect reality is a construct, due to wine and pot.

But my flip, what are these people discussing?

What's a "millennium teaching"?

No, you're going to hell because of your wrong "millennial teaching".
Nope, you're going to hell, because our interpretation was right all along.

And thus, with all our terrible problems, they leave me this magazine.

a reply to: GolgothaBridge

I find confession to be cult-like. Not even all Christian sects believe in it. But I agree with the rest of your post.

All I'm saying is how far deviated, really, are the four noble truths or the eight fold path from the ten commandments?

If God is everything and everywhere, why is it wrong to have faith in the universe? Abrahamic religions have some of the most judging followers I've ever met in my life, yet it teaches you not to judge.

You want to save souls, gotcha, but doesn't the Bible say remove the log from your own eye before removing the splinter from anothers?

It's so unattractively condescending and hypocritical. Find your path and walk it. Don't be a dick and help whenever you're able, that's my religion. Be honest, be kind, pretty much anything you know is right, do. Or is the ever-loving, all-forgiving god going to banish such a person to everlasting torment because they forgot to donate on Sunday?

I get where you are coming from. Just to be clear, I meant confess your sins to God, not a so-called priest with a title which God said not to use.

Thanks for the clarification. And I agree with that.

When I hear the term confession, I'm reminded of how my imediate family was refused the Eucharist at the mass of my grandfather's funeral because we all refused to confess our sins to the priest beforehand.

Edit to emphasize: Yes, refused. As in, told to sit down. No, you may not partake in this ceremony. No, you may not mourn with us. No, you will not be saved. Messed up, man.
