Nearly penalties time for Switzerland... they've done well with 10 players, holding Spain but a few Spanish players should have reallly scored with the chances they've had.

Switzerland had no luck at all but I guess Spain were the better team.

I hate penalties, horrible way for a team to go out, but what other way is there to decide a knockout game?

As I said before; Mama Cass ain't singing yet.

Why is it when English people celebrate it is criticised as gloating, arrogance and even racist?
Other nationalities do it and it is lauded as national pride and is admired.

Hypocrisy and no small amount of jealousy methinks.

I take it that's directed both at me personally and the English in general.

I don't think I've ever been accused of arrogance.
I've been called many, many things - most far too unsavoury to mention here - but never arrogant....at least not to my knowledge or to my face.

But I'll chalk that up as another box ticked.

I think there's more than just a hint of that previously mentioned jealousy peaking through.

And if we are doing massively sweeping generalisations I would say that as a general rule of thumb both the Germans and French are far more arrogant and supercilious than we English.

Why is having pride in one's heritage and culture something to be ashamed of or disavowed?
National identity can be a unifying and positive thing.

And surely the very concept behind the European Championships is national pride?

Look how it has cheered this whole nation up.
Look at how the Danes have revelled in their progress.
Ukraine getting to the quarters was a tremendous achievement that gave their whole country a boost after some desperate times.

And you call others 'arrogant' whilst showing such smug and casual disdain for something that gives so much entertainment.

and I think they will beat Spain, their defence hasn't been so great in this tournament!

Italy v England Final coming up at the weekend. Both have striong defence, so its most likely going to be a tight game, 0-0, 1-0 or 1-1 and maybe go to penalties!
