CDC: Mask Mandates Made No Statistical Difference
“Daily case and death growth rates before implementation of mask mandates were not statistically different from the reference period.”

If enough people where masks that are even partially effective that will have a positive effect in reducing cases.
As I said if there is a better way to get that than mandates I would be all for it.

And I pointed out that proper use of masks, while effective, isn't guaranteed simply by enacting a mask mandate and that is why there is contradicting data.
It isn't but the issue isn't individual usage.

While mask-wearing is mandatory in many public spaces and an essential tool in guarding against the spread of COVID-19, dentists have been seeing a rise in serious oral health issues since people began wearing masks for extended periods of time, according to a new report.
“Mask mouth” has become a trend since the beginning of the pandemic, with people developing bad breath, dry mouth, tooth decay, bleeding gums, mouth ulcers, and other oral health issues, a new report from Express Dentist indicates.
“Wearing a face mask can have serious consequences for oral health. However, avoiding this protective measure is not advisable, because of its critical role in slowing the spread of COVID-19,” the report stated.
The report identified a number of possible causes for mask mouth, including disruption of breathing, disruption of thermoregulation, dehydration, and breathing recycled air.
The report was published in the US's leading organisation of periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP)
You should delay your routine dental cleaning until the coronavirus pandemic eases, according to new guidance from the World Health Organization.
Dentists, hygienists, and other oral care providers have a heightened risk of contracting COVID-19 and passing it to patients because “they are in close contact with their patients’ mouths, use spray-generating equipment that produces airborne particles, [and] are exposed to saliva, blood and body fluids,” WHO said.

But they are not even partially effective if the whole protocol isn't followed.

My point isn't about there being a better way. All I did was point out a reason why the conflicting data probably exists and that there is merit to both arguments because they are focusing on different aspects of the situation.

Again. If you believe a mask protects you. Wear it, and don’t worry about other people you have no control over.

So you assume, but I contend that mask wearing increases CO2 in the blood, weakens immunity, and may cause other respiratory illnesses, which could actually affect if someone gets seriously ill from Covid or not.
I say, breath fresh air, eat right, exercise, get sunlight, and do all the other things to keep yourself healthy, and that's the real way to beat covid and a number of other illnesses.
This thread turned from hilarious, to out right sad.

I'm not sure what you mean by "maskers". Have you ever worn a mask?

The majority of people seem to understand the basic concept of how to wear a mask. It doesn't need to be a hospital standard process to be effective.

Already covered that it isn't mainly about protecting yourself.

Mask or face shield, plus gloves. Alone in a car. I have seen a few people wearing mask and shield, but not alone in a car. Wouldn't surprise me to see it though.
The hysteria over here is literally akin to that during the Salem Witch Trials in certain places/times. Ironically, many of those panicking over others not wearing masks are also, at the same time, wearing theirs down off their nose.
