Rubbish.

Convenient saying employed by people who need to explain away poor choices.

Tell me the person who stepped out in front of the bus and became a quadriplegic as a result thinks that or the junkie who looks ravaged from his/her habit thinks that, etc, etc.

What doesn't kill you simply doesn't kill you.

Victim mentality. Typical.

Vaccines do the same thing that getting and beating an infection does.

Who told you martians lost their immune system and died out? Pretty sure you were not there to claim first hand knowledge.

Artificial stuff is no substitute for the natural stuff. Think about it. How many women having trouble getting their periods back after taking birth control pills? How many men die of heart attack after taking viagra? Vaccine is no substitute for natural virus which builds immune system long term. Vaccine is seasonal and must take every year and gets body hooked on it which causes damage to body.

My sister had covid last year. Though she didn't die, the scarring in her lungs and the brain damage are permanent. She can no longer work her career as a school teacher. She can't work at all. She needs help doing simple things like shopping now. Is she stronger than she was a year ago?

When did your breathing issues begin?

In most cases, I find this to be an an accurate statement.

As far as mistakes and poor decisions are concerned, you overcome them and learn from them. Therefore leaving you a wiser and mentally stronger person.

When it comes to COVID, I would argue that getting the virus and ultimately beating it does make you stronger. You are now immune to that strain of the virus.

In general, I believe that overcoming any and all types of adversity during your lifetime indeed does bring knowledge, which garners wisdom. Thus making you mentally stronger.

About three days after being tested positive for covid. I had a cough before I went to get tested, but it was a productive cough and I never had a fever. I lost my sense of taste and that is when I decided to get tested.

I have a lot of patients who did not die and would disagree they are stronger as a result of their ordeal (Covid and otherwise).

What doesn't kill you simply doesn't kill you.

So , you say that a person could not become stronger under those conditions .
That is an ignorant thing to say.
You think only in physical strength terms , don't you ?
Think Hawking

I was going to try and clarify my alleged ignorance for you but instead I'll just agree.......
ps: better not read post under yours. hehehe

There was nothing wrong with your original post. The saying should be...

"What doesn't kill you has the potential to make you stronger"

...but people have a tendency to talk in absolutes and get offended when you question their statements as such. The saying is a good one if taken in proper context.

I think a more accurate statement would be :
All of your experiences in life have the potential to weaken you or make you stronger.

Even good events can do harm and sometimes yes bad events can spur people on to do great things.

I do think the original statement is a bit silly because it is obviously not true mentally or physically in so many instances.

You Were Never Created To Live Depressed, Defeated, Guilty, Condemned, Ashamed Or Unworthy. You Were Created To Be Victorious; but sadly most people that whine constantly get what they deserve and it's a far cry from VICTORY.

It's a great quote/saying, the OP is just using it in a really stupid manner. By the same logic the Covid vaccine makes you stronger.

No , I do get the heart of the saying and it means well. Like you said though how and when it used makes a difference.

Saying it to someone who just got divorced or laid off it can serve as motivation. Saying it to a 16 year old girl who was just brutally raped and beaten or a soldier coming home injured with ptsd can be seen as a little tasteless.

So do you think the experimental jab cocktail makes you stronger? I'll wait to find out, because I think it's the exact opposite.

Covid vaccine does not make you stronger. By the same token, taking birth control pills does not make your periods more regular, taking viagra does not increase your sexuality without damaging your heart. You can't compared the artificial junk with the natural stuff. Only mother nature knows best.

Okay, well I took Cipro in 2002 and now have Neuropathy , swelling, torn tendons all the time, lost all sex drive, have headaches, brain damage, heart damage, lung damage, tinnitus (my favorite), dizzy and other outstanding symptoms that have no treatment. In the end it's terminal. I'm 63 and have been told several times my symptoms usually dont't show up until much later, age 80 and beyond.

It's terminal, this is what will kill me sooner rather than later.

So how exactly has this made me stronger?

I got some of the early strains of flu when I was young, and have not got a severe case of the flu for over thirty five years now. I do have a severe reaction to the flu vaccine though. I also got a bad reaction to the pertusis part of DTAP last time, first time I had a combination Tetnus shot. I had whooping cough when I was a kid and usually only get a cold like problem for a few days when that is around. Natural immunity is far superior to antigen based immunity. I still get the flu for a day, but it goes away...that really pisses off my wife who suffers for up to two weeks with it...
Serves her right for over riding her natural immunity with a vaccine for a specific strain of the flu.

Doesn't matter, if it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger, even if it is artificial.

Flu vaccines are seasonal because the flu virus mutates every year not because people's bodies get hooked. Seems to me you don't really understand how these things work.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I took the Covid vaccine. It did not kill me, thus made me stronger. Your words my friend not mine. Feel free to ask the mods to wasteland the thread if you have changed your mind.

Do you think getting Covid and having clotting issues resulting in a CVA and permanent brain damage makes you stronger? Or maybe we can stop with the nonsense and we can admit Covid and the vaccine both carry risks, and it's up to each individual to weigh those risks and make an informed choice. There are certainly people who are far better off and much less likely to incur permanent damage or even death after getting "the experimental jab cocktail", that sounds like they are "stronger" to me.
