The clip above is called 'The news benders' and it aired in 1968.

Summary : a man is offered a job as a writer of future news events, all of which will be manufactured and presented to the public as fact.

Now step out of the box for a moment and realize:

Either Hollywood influenced some powerful people through ideas like this;

or it has always been the case and they are so entrenched in their seats of power that they can flaunt it in our faces as a means of countering the boredom that comes from knowing the future, fake as it may be.

Propaganda is one thing, manufactured reality is something entirely different.

Or... what if they are just like us, trying to make sense of a world which has a complexity and variety beyond their comprehension?

What if we just like these conspiracy theories because they don't make us humans look so stupid - and they appeal to our hopes that it is not all out of control, and at least there are some super-intelligent and super-capable bad guys who are doing all the chaos and are trying to deceive us?

A peculiar statement for someone who frequents ATS, and I don't think you believe a word of what you have just said.

I like to feel superior and need the reinforcement for my fragile ego.

It happens.

I'd stay away from CNN, it's filthy as far as glory holes go.

They want you to think they're incompetent morons and that humans are not guided at all. Learned over the past year that they had me fooled on that end and that they're much smarter and conniving than they let on.

I don't have their billions of $$$ ... so no, they are not just like us.

Many theories have proven to be true.

Just read the Church Report which was the best version of damage control they could muster.

The OP is right on the money.

I think the fame that comes with being a news anchor could most definitely appeal to sociopaths / psychopaths, but all the people behind the scenes, all the people that make the propaganda happen, even the interns, I just can't understand.

Are they all sociopaths? Why aren't there more whistle blowers or at least confessions about working in the industry? How can they justify what they do?

Perhaps you might be in an industry where certain things are not discussed openly?

I know I am.

The script was written by Desmond Lowden, who has a couple of Hollywood scripts under his belt so no stranger to the fraternity.

A head's-up that it's a 28 minute long video would be nice. Thanks! (limited bandwidth here)

Not exactly what I was looking for but Hearst went out of his way to stop Orson Welles from showing Citizen Kane

www.theguardian.com...

Previously unpublished documents have revealed the scale of a plot by the media mogul William Randolph Hearst to discredit Orson Welles and destroy Citizen Kane, the 1941 film about the rise and fall of the fictional newspaper proprietor Charles Foster Kane.

Welles and RKO Pictures faced extortion, media manipulation and other underhand tactics in a plot that was much darker and began earlier than was previously known, according to research by Harlan Lebo for a forthcoming book.

Records show that Welles felt Hearst was not linked to the attacks on him and Citizen Kane, but that his minions wanted “to show the boss that they were on the ball”. On a lecture tour before Citizen Kane’s release, Welles was warned by a police investigator: “Don’t go back to your hotel. They’ve got a 14-year-old girl in the closet and two photographers waiting for you to come in.” But the director at the time blamed a “hatchet man” from a local Hearst paper.

It just occurred to me I only covered the truth in movies part.

So for lies in media here's a recent one.

Put your hazmat suits on as we discover what's on the other side of the hole.

For glory!

A 7 and a half minute clip but the first 3 minutes should do it.

CNN trash talking the 45th POTUS and feeling sorry for the inevitable political demise of Liz Cheney.

I'm a media geek during campaigns for our local GOP. Everyone has an agenda and it all boils down to "money"

It's capitalism.
