This article www.foxnews.com... says officer Eric Talley is a hero. But it doesn't say why. Sounds like he got gunned down just like the shoppers/employees.

He was the first LEO to arrive on scene. Sounds like he got ambushed trying to make entry.

It bugs me when people in certain positions/jobs are called heroes just for getting killed, while every other murdered person is not referred to as a hero.

Grocery store employees and amazon delivery drivers are heroes for working during covid, remember?

This is not to blame ALL men, of course. And not to blame ONLY men, of course. And not to blame BEING a man, of course.

But the proportion is obvious, and particular triggers, motivations and objectives might differ, but when all come to the same murderous conclusions, there is a pattern. And it needs to be examined in the light of day.

And I do believe that if we did so, we would likewise be addressing whatever causes the racial disproportions in violent crime as well. My best guess is that whatever the problem(s) may be, and probably a combination of factors, there is a root problem leading to most if not all the violence.

I would like to hear your opinion on this. I'm looking from the outside. You have experience and wisdom I don't have.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that he was entering a site with an active shooter, knowingly putting his life on the line, in an attempt to help preserve the lives of those trapped in the store.

Now imagine if Boulder allowed people to open carry... The shooter would have been killed before the police could even get there.

I didn’t catch any reporter asking if they thought it was terror related.
But they did say that the community is safe now and no further threats were identified.
They did say they think he lived most of his life in the USA.
