See the problem is you are constantly equating what a woman wears with pleasing men. Women can flaunt flesh without it meaning they are trying to lure the male gaze. Its the men who think that's its an invite thats the problem.

Yes, your views are toxic and dangerous. This man is there for his daughter, sharing his wisdom and experience.

You’re triggered that she should be aware of what she projects to the world is an important lesson, for all genders.

Again, what’s wrong with male perspective? You seem to have some understanding that male is bad. This mans daughter will be thankful she has a father around, who cares enough to help share his wisdom and experience. Your clear distain for male perspective is toxic, you can only see things as men assaulting women, that comes from your own toxic nature.

Oh wow....OK if you honestly agree that it is correct to tell a female they shouldn't dress in a way to attract unwanted male attention then sorry im not wasting any more time on you.

You should be aware what you are projecting to the world, in any context. Your ignorance about what is being projected when you show off your flesh probably comes from poor upbringing, it’s a shame you didn’t have a father who could give you better male perspective. The world doesn’t see your intent, it sees your form fitting yoga pants with thong hiked up and mid drift on display.

Typical toxic female, makes a bunch of stupid claims refuses to defend their statements and then leaves the conversation.

I applaud a father giving male perspective to help his daughter learn.

Are men sure what they're doing? In our male-majority government it has been decided that you will get longer in jail for 'killing' a statue than for killing a woman.

I'd like that changed. I'd like male on female violence to carry MUCH stronger sentences. Is that tragic?

Just because ONE extremist calls for a ludicrous curfew it does not invalidate the reasons for females wanting more protection from the law. I'm not sure why you are so scared of these 'movements' ... it's a natural progression away from patriarchy which begins with education and reevaluation of how we currently manage male on female violence and sexual harassment. We shouldn't live in a world where this is normal. Its very difficult to find a woman who hasn't experienced any of this. I dont know any who haven't. 97%?!

I can't speak for other countries, I'm in the UK where women would just like to feel more protected than a f*cking statue.
Lol

Great contribution, but yeh i also find it LOL that harming a statue is more of an offence than harming women. Shows what a patriarchal society we still live in huh?

What happens when you see this? Are you unable to control yourself? Maybe we should burka those bitches up, cover their ankles and wrists, they make men loopy.

Exactly. As if the men I'm worried about care what a woman's "intent" is. They'll tell her what her intent is. Sexual offense and crimes are not about respect and understanding, it's about power and control. They'll make their own rules.

But let's not pretend that clothes do not make a statement in and of themselves, both for ourselves and for others. People do judge others by what they wear, for many many reasons. Some clothing choices that are quite appropriate in certain situations are quite inappropriate for other situations. In any situation, someone will have something to say (or think) about pretty much any choice we make. And some clothing choices will spark more specific reactions from many many people, not just a few, for obvious reasons. We all have to decide how much we want to draw attention to ourselves by the clothing we wear, for many reasons. Sexuality and availability are just among those reasons, not the only reason.

Some choices, rightly or wrongly, demand (and squander) too much time, energy and emotion. It's not worth it.

I have already explained myself several times, its not my fault you refuse to accept this very obvious point. This father said this was his wise words of advise to his daughter...it just reinforces the victim blaming issue that women attract male attention by wearing little clothing so the women should be responsible for that. This is really basic stuff which is why I don't have the time to go over it again and again.

It is a very basic lesson, be aware of what you are putting into the world regardless of intent you should know what the world sees. Simple lesson indeed.

Please. First and foremost, I have made it very clear that it's the men I fault here, not my daughter or any woman.

Second, and no less important, educating and informing anyone -- in this case my daughter -- of reasonable risks and likely consequences is not victim blaming, it is empowering and enabling that person to protect and defend themselves from (now) known dangers.

Finally, but certainly not least, empowering anyone -- in this case my daughter -- to know how to do and be better for herself is not victim blaming. It is a very real, practical and effective effort to make sure she isn't a victim at all!!!

How many women say they prefer "bad boys" to good men? Get beaten, treated badly, finally leave them just to go out and find another "bad boy".

I already explained.

Every woman's value and worth is far more than her ability to please the male gaze, or to please any man in any way. If that's where she puts her attention, then that's the attention she will get. If she wants better and more for herself, then she has to focus her attention on better and more than her physical attributes.

In other words, if your car is not for sale, you don't put a "for sale" sign on your car only to waste your time, energy and emotion on responding to people wanting to buy your car.

I made sure my daughter knew that she is far more than her body, and that her inherent potential, as well as her ultimate value and worth, does not come from what's on the outside but what's on the inside. Substance, not symbolism.

Our physical bodies are a temporary temple for our eternal spirit. The body can be a wonderful servant, but it makes for a lousy master.

Can’t we have equality under the law? Your statues should be left to fend for themselves, if it isn’t breathing it’s vandalism.

Yes, as a matter of fact, it is. In many ways, and on many levels.

It's a shame I even had to explain it once, much less multiple times.
