Hyatt still has to approve the stage before it's finalized as good to go. Most hotel venues rely on this, it's a CYA fallback route. Either someone at Hyatt dropped the ball, or people are becoming such adept pearl clutchers that they're about to get courtesy necklaces from folks to prove themselves useful yet, and thus Hyatt folded like a super cheapo garage sale polyester suit.

However...to the people paying attention, this is a very clear wink and nod to fascism and white nationalism, which the Cpac organisers and attendees must surely have been aware of to some degree.
...
Have at you, ATS

Just to be clear, CPAC is opposed to the current administration.
So if you're opposed to the current administration, you're a nazi?
You’re above those kinds of games, man. Or has ATS just devolved to false equivalencies across the board?
I know if I belonged to a group that was constantly mislabeled as nazis and white supremacists, I’d most likely do what I could to ensure that didn’t continue and try to dispel any questioning behind it. Standing on a f*cking stage that’s a literal nazi symbol doesn’t exactly scream “Hey man, we’re not nazis!”
In an exclusive statement to the Forward on Tuesday evening, Design Foundry, a stage design firm based in Hyattsville, Maryland, said it “had no idea that the design resembled any symbol, nor was there any intention to create something that did.” The organizers of CPAC have announced that it will not use the firm for future events.

Pearl clutching?!
So - CPAC has no responsibility? Nobody but the Hyatt? Let's just foist all this off on the Hyatt and pretend it's about weak people and pearl clutching?
Pretty cowardly Nyah
Well - your decisions are your own. No problem there
Your opinion doesn't mean much here. The Hyatt likely had zero idea about the rune - seeing as most people here at ATS didn't either
That doesn't mean it didn't mean what it means - if you know what I mean

Pro tip:
If you have to explain to virtually everyone that what they're seeing is nazi/racist/offensive (same treatment as Dr Seuss) , then it isn't.
