So opposing hate, opposing fascism and opposing oppression got her fired

I think it was more the taking of a strong public political stance and then not easing back when asked to do so.

But, yeah, they probably would have been more lenient if the stance was not pro-conservative.

No wonder ‘the left’ is so supportive of Disney over this incident

I wouldn't know.

Why does every viewpoint, opinion and stance have to be tied to a political party or affirmation?

This entire "cancel culture" might, just might include people from differing sides of the spectrum. Is that so tough to wrap your heads around?

In order to fight this bull# culture we need to, in my opinion, STOP making everything out as Red/Blue etc and start thinking for ourselves, building efforts as concerned and coordinated human beings and approach these minority factions with rational thinking and productive actions

My sentiments are firmly with this young woman, the cancel culture has been subverted by extremists and is being used to censor free speech, rewrite or deny history and oppress the great majority of public sentiment while everything else is being controlled in the media.

It is in short the book burning and rewriting of history of today.

To use a similar analogy to her post that so riled up those that have chosen to hate her without even reading her post which was actually highlighting the ills of society that led to the murder of so many innocent people simply because they were different, highlighting the discrimination and segregation and blind hatred that led to the holocaust because she most certainly did not condone but highlighted it pointing out the similarity's to todays world (and there are many).

Remember these were the cancel culture of 1930's Germany.

A fundamental repression of IDEA's, CANCEL CULTURE.

Here is a Rabbi talking about the cancel culture in Jewish Term's.

Gina is just the latest attempt by these NAZI like Cancel Culture Vultures to burn something they do not like, she has come back stronger because WE have had enough of there crap.

Kathleen Kennedy and her ill thought out use of the cancel culture to try to justify a tactic that probably has more to do with her fight to control Lucasfilm and use it as an ideological brainwashing tool to push her own ideological agenda is just a symptom of another person all too willing to jump on the bandwagon thinking that the prevalence of cancel culture in todays society was going to allow her to cover her real motives which were jealousy and hatred of another younger stronger woman.

Disney will pay the price, there share holders will lose hundreds of millions and more likely billions on there investments because of these people.
Robert Chapek and Kathleen Kennedy whom it seems can not read society anywhere near as well as they should be able to in order to hold the posts they currently have (not to mention Kennedy is a hack and should have been shoved over board some time ago when she cost Disney huge amounts of actual lost profit by turning star wars into a REEEEEEEE franchise).

The Buck stop's with Chapek, he is the guy over Kennedy and he is responsible for (Ultimately ALL) her ill decisions, the buck stop's with him and indeed his decisions have stopped the BUCK's for the investors in a very real sense of the word, Kennedy has lost them far more money than she has made them, Gina was popular and popular (immensely so and for some more than Pedro was since lets be fair anyone can play a guy that keeps his helmet on) equals money so what does she do - fire her on made up allegations.

Star Wars was one the most loved (and Lucrative) movie franchise in history, what happened under Kennedy's (And Chapek's) watch when she circumvented it to push ideological agenda over good movie making, the Franchise DIED - it DIED.

It took John Favreau to bring it back to life (and many former fan's have not yet returned due to them not having YET and now being even more unlikely to ever subscribe to Disney Plus) and to reassure the INVESTORS not the public Chapek brought old Lucas back on board BUT he left Kennedy in charge and what did she do, try to destroy Favreau's work, fire one of his leads and interfere with the intention of petty destruction (While riling up Life Long fans of star wars by stealing from older superior star wars content and using idiot story writers to create her twisted agenda pushing high republic trash that no star wars fan would EVER accept as cannon or even star wars for that matter), what is Chapek doing, more importantly what are the investors going to do at the next shareholders and board meeting because I am pretty certain they need to get rid of Chapek AND Kennedy or at least force him to get rid of Kennedy on there behalf (perhaps appoint old Lucas IF he can be persuaded or even better FAVREAU, I mean can you imagine the profit margins they would hit if Favreau was there boss and got them to make quality again, Disney was not always so bad let's be fair, Tron, Flight of the Navigator echoes of a better Disney of the past which was obviously under superior directorship to todays Disney - even The Black Hole a woefully under rated movie from there past was far, far superior to Chapek and Kennedy's movies and shows.

One word, "Capitalism".

When profits are threatened then companies work to save them. If that involves firing someone that has done or said something they don't like... well you know.

Well not solely Capitalism. Religious based businesses do the same. How many teachers haven't been fired for doing something outside the school that was deemed inappropriate ?

It's said 'Cancel Culture' is a test run for mass murder. While my cynical side agrees, my logical side says its hyperbolic.

At its core, it is hypocritical. The mirror never lies.

I think my hands will get tired if I have to post all of the rights cancel culture outings. funny that the same people that created it are crying about it.

Kapernick, starbucks, nike, dixie chicks, taylor swift, segregation, interracial marriage, jim crow, anti atheism laws. Donald Trump was the king of cancel culture. He wanted to cancel everything he didn't like.

I'll be here all night if I keep going. So yeah.

None of those had anything to do with Orangeman bad.

I know you hate God and America but lets try to use sources instead of feelings.

Did I say I knew what the terms of her contract were?

Her former employer said she was fired because of things she posted on social media.

In my experience, I have seen the type of clauses which allow employers to terminate employees based on those types of things because it has a negative impact on the company and what those things might be is at their "sole discretion" and it wouldn't surprise me if they are using something like that to base their decision.

You seem rather upset that I hold this opinion.

I'm also intrigued by what you mean by, when my time comes. I don't think you mean death, that comes to all of us, but I'm certain mine isn't going to come because of what I have posted in this thread.

What do you think I have coming to me?

I hope it is better than what I've gotten so far.

Which is exactly what is wrong with world, too many have become principleless zombies.

I get this isn't technically a first amendment issue, however if you believe in those principles along with the principles of equality you couldn't possibly keep looking this nonsense down.

Somebody will scream free-market like it has any relevance, a free market is supposed to be consumer controlled, if said consumers actually believe in that of which they expouse this crap would be handled quickly. Instead we all just live a lie helping project the masks of our friends in hopes they reciprocate.

We have made it publicly beneficial to hide one's self at the detriment of us all.
