I know. I said spontaneous. I should be able to use the word as long as there are communities.

Communitism maybe? 😀

I wish everyone would be like this, and nobody would seek recognition for doing it. Do it because it's the right thing to do, not for the accolades.

You mean do Mason stuff.

don't say it like that, it sounds so dirty. But yea, exactly.

Part of it is trust. People like to know that when they go in to help others, someday they'll have a chance of receiving help in turn.

It's one of the reasons why immigrant communities spring up in foreign nations. They tend to have culture and values in common, so they have that level of common trust in each other.

Faith communities that are close knit will have that trust in the community. When I help now, the community will be there for me in turn. Families will have it if they're not dysfunctional. You'll see it in smaller towns and rural communities especially where it's a combination of long-standing familiarity and family - everyone knows everyone.

Nice to see that.
Just today I was thinking that if I came into money ( more then I really could spend ) , what would I do. Well, I thought I'd go to the unemployment office and ask people once they left the office if they really needed a bag of rice. If so, I'd give them 2 and a 1/2 kilo bag. I think it would be better that way for me then actually going to the community center and donating, this way I actually get to see the smiles on the peoples faces.

Yes, I'm very serious about my post. I most certainly would do this. The poverty ( loss of full time jobs is very real ) here is something that really has changed the landscape of being well to do to just barely making the rents. ( actually, rents are starting to fall in price and the key deposits are also now negotiable , something I've never seen before )
