Chinese officials reassured members of the public Monday that newly introduced anal swab coronavirus tests will not make them waddle like penguins after a video purportedly showing people struggling to walk after using them went viral online.

Y'all I just can't anymore. I'm all for testing, lots of testing...but.....butt?
Ok a swab up the rear doesn't sound too bad, but why where these folks limping/waddling etc?
What are they putting up there?


Apparently these test are more accurate.

better at identifying the disease in mild or asymptomatic cases.

There was a similar thread that got pulled because ATS members (not me of course) couldn't post without being immature but I can tell you that I find this test to be just a tad intrusive for the potential benefits.

The WaPo was all in on this, and I am all out.

patient and test taker.

Call me dumb, but if Covid is such a super spreader through droplets — why is it so hard to get an accurate test result from said droplets? Why shove a 6 inch long swab up your nose or bum?

None of it makes sense.

Anyone willing to subject themselves to this belongs in a FEMA camp.

Ok...serious question here.

If this virus is so fricken contagious that we are required to stay six feet apart and wear a mask, two masks now, in order not to spread or catch the virus....

Then why does a swab need to be shoved half way to my little brain through my nose or half way to my kidneys up my bum?

Honestly if they need to get that evasive to find a sample I'm pretty sure the folks in Wal-Mart will not be getting it from me.

Those are used for many medical tests so I can't believe it wouldn't work for this.

You know like drug addicts do with urine samples.
