In general, when ever the president goes someplace security is enhanced. For example, whenever Obama visited Oahu there was a "no fly" area which covered pretty much the whole island. We couldn't even go hang gliding. Pretty sure the same applied when Trump was in Florida.

But the inauguration is sort of a special event, doncha think?

It is really weird. They don't just bring in 25000 national guard. They brought in national guard from all 50 states and 3 territories. Why bring in troops from Alaska Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico when there are other assets closer. That cost alone makes no sense.

I can't tell if its a show of unity for something or someone is really bad at military planning

Publicity stunt, plain and simple.

There are probably a small army of historical military officers rolling over in their graves right now that soldiers are being mobilized from every state just for appearances.

The idea alone that 25k troops are being deployed is utter lunacy anyways. I think this is essentially a comfort blanket to Biden's handlers and some in the military aligned with them. If this is supposed to be a show of force (??) or somehow intimidate the political opposition, I would venture to say that it's had the opposite effect.

While that is true, 15 years in the Army and I have never seen this much security to include Bush Jr flying into Baghdad.

Make me wonder wtf

Exactly.

No way I am buying that this is just to help assist law enforcement. If it is, people need to be fired ASAP.

You understand that the Capitol was invaded. Right?
When was the last time that happened?

"Um... hey guys can I get you to... No well ok but just have fun and don't hurt yourself"

I'm paraphrasing that guard. Aaron Burr shot Hamilton for less, much less, but this guard was sad. The place he was hired to guard was stormed, and he had the right to shoot the intruders, but instead just acted sad. If Capital Police took their jobs seriously, then sure it would have been bloody, but I bet that would be the last time anyone stormed the place for a while. This whole mess had to have been planed with help from the inside political gears.

Invaded? Like when the left invaded the Senate building during the Kavenaugh hearings?

Bunch of media went down for awhile.

Link to downdetector.

Looks like they are still under attack.

Are we going to get an EBS message tonight?

I'm sure it's nothing, in fact I'm willing to bet that's exactly what they will report on this... nothing.

Something to ponder:
"If a city like New York was destroyed by a Nuclear explosion, how long will it really take to inform the people if the media that exist outside of New York are plotting against the sitting President?"

I don't recall any broken windows. Any deaths or injuries. Any looting during that episode.

You didn't ask about damages and injuries. You asked about invasion/trespass.

I think what you are saying is very true.

You can find a live stream of most major cities.

I have been checking on DC every few hours.

Right, but if the EMP took out most of those cameras, and the media in those cities were gone, then we have to wait until people start posting pictures from outside of town in areas that still have internet and cell service.

That could take hours or in some areas even days. When that Nuc went off in Russia a couple of years ago, how long did it take for outside areas to learn about what it was?

Now think about some of the cities here and the virtual infrastructure it has vs real infrastructure. (Virtual meaning cell, large area wi-fi, and services that don't require much more then a power plug and a tower vs hard wired services like land lines and real cables)

I don't know anymore than anyone else here. I too am perplexed. If it were a plan to arrest anyone, why would they need to wait until the 20th?

I am leaning toward an outside threat. A threat that wants their attempt to be at a time that would wreck havoc on a day that would have symbolic importance to America.

If there was real threat from Iran, the Inauguration would send a much larger message than the ceremonial electoral college count at the Capitol.

Green Zone has the hint of a war from the outside to me. It doesn't sound like a term that would be used for a domestic conflict.

Just my two cents.

You have to wonder why the Biden administration is asking for them to be unarmed.

Might be that he betrayed a well respected General Flinn and now he's doubting the loyalty of the Generals and soldiers

Then it is time for old school, low tech, turn on the shortwave radio receiver.

I could prattle on about this all day and I would be mostly happy to do that because it is no less than our nation, Constitutional values, way of life and the future of what we would describe as free, fair and transparent elections that are at stake.

That said, I covered this already tonight in length so I don't want to regurgitate everything I said an hour ago so I will link the video and if interested, you can see very clearly what I think about what is happening in the capital right now.
