17 hours ago it was reported that just over 40 members of the National Guard have tested positive for Covid. There is no mention if any are ill, just that they tested positive. What better way to keep them in Washington. No one can return because they are or will be covid positive. Funny to see the weapon used against ordinary people now being deployed against them. Their presence could go on indefinitely.

I wonder if the Colorado troops are from the 1-157 Infantry (Mountain). They are part of the 86th Brigade which used to be aligned with 10th Mountain Division.

I found what I was looking for. Even Hawaii is sending national guard members to Washington. In the article below it states that every state has been asked to send troops. The 25,000 number is going to get much larger. Thee is going to be representation from every state. Could it be so that there are legal witnesses to what is going to happen on inauguration day. This is not just civilian witnesses but military.
Every article I have read repeats the same mantra of a credible threat. The general public would not go near Washington and the mayor has requested hotels to close, mass transit halted, garage parking closed to make sure. As others have mentioned a play of fake characters pretending to be Trump supporters causing trouble. Non of this makes sense. The entertainment is virtual, few invitations sent out, and even Trump will not be there.

The numbers are beginning to sound alarming, with every state starting to send troops that is concentrating a huge amount in one place to a) the detriment of their home states if something kicked off there, and b) be at the mercy of a 'direct hit' of some sort !
Sky event maybe ?
Then that would be a perfect excuse for either UN troops to step in and 'help' the USA or even for the DS to borrow some of the Chinese troops on the Northern border to assist in the fall out. Either way very bad news - let's hope anything out there has been nullified.

The setup smells of budding internecine warfare within the ranks of the armed forces.

On one hand, we've got perfumed princes of the Pentagon like the CJCS who seems horrified by the thought that the Commander in Chief might actually expect him to honor his oath vice domestic enemies of the Constitution.

On the other hand, we have a SpecOps veteran as the SecDef (who did NOT sign the letter of the generals regarding Biden's inauguration), and who has his own military forces on call.

Makes me wonder if Milley et al. think putting NG troops between the SecDef and Biden is a way of standing the SecDef down ("he won't dare make a move because the deaths of the National Guardsmen would turn the entire country against him" [and Trump by definition] ).

The National Guard as a human shield. Not a concept marked by honor or loyalty to one's subordinates.

In respect of your Edit re troops - it's somewhat ironic that they are holding a Virtual Inauguration in order to prevent it from becoming a mass 'Super Spreader' event (or so the narrative goes) but are quite happy to call up troops from everywhere in the country to 'protect' them. Another new more deadly strain incoming ? So yes infecting troops is a real possibility.

What makes sense to me right now is there is obviously something that is a worldwide threat....covid is not a massive killer....no more than any other virus in history.

The divide is actually worldwide...not just the US.

One angle on the NG rollout could be relatively simple and explain why the MSM is so silent on the ramp up. They know the fraudulent election was so egregious and so many people are aware and upset that the feel Biden/DC may not be safe for an indefinite amount of time.

The NG may not really be there for inauguration day, but for the day after and ultimately the long haul. That alone should be telling how big of a lie they know they perpetrated.

On the other hand, it could be some real threat, but logically, I can't think of one that would require such a response especially given the virtual nature... short of a full invasion of the capital, none of this makes sense.

Also, it's pretty normal in communist dictatorships to surround yourself with a massive bunch of troops -- just sayin.
