I think it's great. If the Senate doesn't follow through and also pass it, they are virtually guaranteed to lose Georgia. It's Trump's final fu to the Republicans that didn't support him during his term and throughout the election fiasco.

Biden has said he'll raise the corporate tax rate and the upper rate for those earning over 100K or so.

Which will do nothing to address the deficit unless spending is cut.

Republicans cut taxes on the rich, Dems raise them, nothing changes but the day.

I don't get a penny and only get to fund it and would be ok with that as long as only American tax payers are getting the money and not Foreign or Domestic BS pet projects get a piece of it.

So was the pork and foreign embezzling removed? Also are retired folks and currently working folks that are still getting their steady paychecks getting a 2K check aswell?

I have one kid in 3rd year college EE/math degree, and this year is going to delay him about a year to finish. My other kid is 12th grade HS and is looking at a ROTC scholarship, so for me it really comes down to when my cost is reduced. If My youngest doesn't get a scholarship then I'll retire in about 5 years at 65, if he gets it them maybe at 62. I think we are going to move from the NW to Texas to retire, and my expensive house here can buy a really nice place there outright with my equality...

As to bugout I think we will do a lot of traveling as in go rent a small appt in other countries and live there for months at a time. Nice way to see a place.

They literality have zero choices here, and I agree with all of your post. What people are totally ignoring is that for Trump the stimulus is all about the people and small businesses. That is all he has cared about as the House dumps 100 of billions of Pork into it. 600 dollars is about 90 billion, 2000 is about 300 billion, and when they are talking in the end 2+ trillion a 300 billion from 90 billion is not as much as people might think, but a hell of a big difference to a person.

There are enough Senate votes for approval, but Mitch McConnell BLOCKS it.

No $2,000 stimulus payments for the time being.

Such weird behavior by Mitch, one has to wonder what he has to gain by blocking this action? I wonder if his wife gains anything, or China in that regards.

I think its the same thing of everyone who paid taxes last year gets it as they use IRS to figure out who is qualified or not. Also if you make over 70k you either don't get it or it is reduced with increases over 70k to a point you don't get any. The bad part there can be someone who could have made 300k in 2019, but dead broke in 2020 and needs it while many others will be buying a TV/gun/fun with it....lol

Since the Treasury is supposed to begin Sending out and Direct Depositing the $600 payments on Thursday 12/31, Mitch could be attempting to run out the clock. Thursday morning, he can say, "Oops...Too late!".

McConnell needs to go. He's good at what he's done (Border Wall, Judges), but his heart is not with the American people.

They should treat them as two separate bills, just do a 2k bill with nothing else in it then they can debate over the big one with all the pork in it.
