If it's all just a show and everyone is performing theater, then in the end nothing really matters. And never has.

That being said, I guess I will root for the better fictional ending.
Reality is probably but a perception. If they ever break out the musical script you'll know the writers have gone stale.

He received more votes than both Clinton and Obama.
So no, he was trying to win.

I feel little emotion. Im probably just internalising my feelz. Or psychopathic.

I Know. Without a doubt. That Trump was put in place to destroy the GOP.

And he succeeded in such. Spectacularly.

No emotion. Just 4 long years or reinforcement of my 'hypothethesis'

The exact same observations were made in the wake of the 2016 election.

"The Democratic party is irrevocably broken"

"The schism between the Clintonian and Bernie Democrats will fracture the party in half"

I mean, the terrain might appear to look one way from half the world away.....but it certainly feels quite different when you walk on it with your own feet, day in and day out.

I can assure you, with full confidence, that the GOP will bounce back from this "defeat". My own opinion is that behind closed doors, many orthodox, establishment Republicans will be happy to see Trump go. They can begin formulating plans on how to reclaim the middle ground from Biden, and win back the prodigal "Never Trump" Republicans who left the fold.

Not that I care one iota about it, but neither major political party is going anywhere. Our political system is a seesaw with a carefully calibrated and well-oiled fulcrum that the people behind the curtain ensure never tips over. When one side descends, it's a physical certainty that the other side will bouncing back (at the expense of the other) in due time.

I feel the quote, in its full text, will better illustrate this cinematic genius and shed more light on this genuinely fitting, timely allusion.

The Dude : I dropped off the money exactly as per... look, man, I've got certain information, all right? Certain things have come to light. And, you know, has it ever occurred to you, that, instead of, uh, you know, running around, uh, uh, blaming me, you know, given the nature of all this new #, you know, I-I-I-I... this could be a-a-a-a lot more, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, complex, I mean, it's not just, it might not be just such a simple... uh, you know?

The Big Lebowski : What in God's holy name are you blathering about?

The Dude : I'll tell you what I'm blathering about... I've got information man! New # has come to light! And #... man, she kidnapped herself. Well sure, man. Look at it... a young trophy wife, in the parlance of our times, you know, and she, uh, uh, owes money all over town, including to known pornographers, and that's cool... that's, that's cool, I'm, I'm saying, she needs money, man. And of course they're going to say that they didn't get it, because... she wants more, man! She's got to feed the monkey, I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?

Well, he's a bad businessman at that.

Who lost so much money between 1985 -1994, including over $250 million dollars in both 1990 and 1991 that he didn’t even have to pay income taxes in eight of the 10 years.

As to him being a Gemini, astrology really???

Ah ha ha! So fitting for all of this.

New Edits to the script:

The Dude : I'll tell you what I'm blathering about... I've got information man! New # has come to light! And #... man, He's playing us. Well sure, man. Look at it... an old Billionaire, in the parlance of our times, you know, and he, uh, uh, owes money all over town, including to known pornographers, and that's cool... that's, that's cool, I'm, I'm saying, he needs money, man. And of course they're going to say that he didn't loose, because... he wants more, man! he's got to feed the monkey, I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?

I kinda doubt he didn't want to win. He could have just said # it, can't get a fair shake with the full onslaught of MSM attacks, and not ran again. I think he would have wanted to win to spite the attacks. He shoulda ran as a democrat, they woulda loved him and cheated to get him another term lol.

He was a democrat, a lot of people don’t realize that. I also think he is always calculating for his businesses.

"It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Now, it shouldn't be that way. But if you go back, I mean it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats....But certainly we had some very good economies under Democrats, as well as Republicans. But we've had some pretty bad disasters under the Republicans."

www.thoughtco.com...

Oh yes calculating for his business, that's why he's lost billions while in office! Genius take there bud!

Let's just ignore every other congressman, and previous president who enriched themselves in office making exponentially more than their pay, but the guy that lost billions trying to run the country, we'll say he was trying to enrich himself! What a reality you live in

I had not thought of this but it makes sense. He had 4 years to straighten out voting he even created a panel at first. But eventually that dropped off his radar and he just ignored it. He might have decided along the way to just stop.

He'd be a bad businessman if he paid taxes.
Seriously...he would.

When you lose 250 million dollars, well that's bad.

And if you assume a good businessman does not pay taxes, well that says quite a lot also.

I mean you do realize that those taxes are collected for a reason and go on to fund other important aspects of our respective societies?

He's a terrible businessman that's going home and possibly to jail in the coming months.

I’ve thought about this many times. It certainly can’t be easy being the most hated man in the US and having a target on your back 24/7. Hell, I’ve got a target on my back at work 24/7 and it’s not fun, never mind one the size of the US AND other nations.

Honestly, if I were him I would have stuck up two middle fingers and said “F*ck ya’ll, I’m out!”.

I suppose it depends where his ego is sitting. On one hand, he’s got millions of devoted followers, on the other, everyone who doesn’t. There’s barely an in between. I’m not sure if the followers are enough to make him want to stick around.

Nah, he wants to win. He's a natural born competitor.

Although, once it sinks in and he's free of the office I would think he will enjoy life after.

I've ran and owned businesses for over 20 years so I know a thing or two about taxes.
That being said no good owner has his personal and business finances lumped together.

Do you realize there are other types of taxes than0 just personal income? Half the country doesn't pay personal income.

And you have to actually commit a crime to get jail time... Sometimes even those that do commit crimes don't go to jail.

Trump will be laughing for years to come.

Eta for some perspective...
Tesla lost $700 million in the third quarter of 2019..

Did you lose 250 million dollars in a year, 2 years running, whilst you ran your businesses?

My bet is that's a negative.

Don't know about laughing mate, vascular dementia being a thing, Trump's time on planet Earth for many of those years to come might be rather limited.

Canny pardon death nor taxes Bluntone22, he's not jumping through that hoop, or at all, with those bone spurs and plates of meat.
