The only personal risk, for me, has come up in discussions with friends and family who really love their party, especially those on the left. When I tell them I believe their party is full of a bunch of assholes who do nothing but pander for their own benefit, it doesn’t really make them happy. While I certainly haven’t lost any friends over it, I’ve had friends question how much I value other citizens, in which case, I reply, “I value them greatly. I just don’t value the people telling you and them that they’re going to fix everything.”

Like I said, I haven’t lost any friends over it. The closest I got to that was when my father (conservative) went off on me one night and told me he was taking me out of his will because I was #ting on Trump about something. He got over it the next day and Trump was still an asshole in my book.
