Oh, all animals have their charm, their personalities, their quirks.

My mom and I were discussing the ways that cats use their voices. They're all different about it, and the thing my mom said to me that rings true about every animal really is that the saddest thing in the world are the people who never take the time to get to know an animal and really notice how different they all are and appreciate that.

I have rescued about 10 kittens over the last few years.
Not a one was like any of the others.
Feral kittens usually turn out to be the best pets.
They really do appreciate , and become strongly attached to , the first person to show them love.

Peace to all , and back to gaming.

I had a cat that recently died at the age of 19 years old. We'd been through everything together. He was my best friend for many many years. He was a brawler. Not only with other cats, but dogs as well. He was fearless. One time he chased an intruder off the 3rd level walkway of my apartment onto the cement parking lot below. Luckily, for some unknown reason, there was a big pile of soft dirt it landed on.

My family always had dogs when I grew up and I am a dog person too. My aunty had a cat though after and it looked like Hitler, one of these black white cats with the black facial hair under the nose and black side-part hair on. Nose was a bit black, too.

That sucker.

Landlord's cat was a feral, the most chilled and well balanced cat I have ever seen. Still a rebel but never once did it unfold it's claws on me or my daughter. Somehow when we visit, the most urgent thing it needs to do is try to get on my lap or shoulder and stay there. Even when I stand up it tries to travel with me but no claws ever. Before that, it will jump down. To only cat I can connect with.

Cats bond with folks.
Usually only one becomes the favorite.
Interesting.

When I notice it in the room all I need to do is make a fist and hold it so it can reach it, and it will come bouncing into my hand gently, head first. That remembers me of my doggo, we had a thing, before I turned off the light and went into me bed each day for almost fifteen years, we touched foreheads and nose with her, this was our rite. Maybe that's some kind of universal language in the animal kingdom?

I am not sure about the cat, maybe it was because I ignored it first? I noticed with other cats, that a cat will often seek the proximity or attention of that one person, that is not interested and does not make any gestures towards it.

Then it must be a universal thing.
All 3 of my cats believe in touching nose to nose with my wife and I.
The littlest one especially.
Our large Maine Coon shows affection with rubbing foreheads as well .

I always put my hand out to let my cat give me permission to proceed. Internet tip I found that really works. He appreciates it and and occasionally says Bug-off.

Anyone know what to do to supplemet minerals in your cats diet?

I left a little bowl of pink himilayan salt out to evaporate so he would have something to lick...he has been licking the Epsom Salts bag and handles of plastic shopping bags lately.

Some cats have a plastic fetish. For unknown reasons, they enjoy licking plastic. I've had two like that over the years and both preferred different textures of plastic. One liked plastic shopping bags and the other was more into the cellophane wrappers they used on food packages.

As far as supplements, the best thing you can do is vary your cats' diet. We actually feed a variety of foods. They each get a Sheba portion in the morning and evening with a small portion of a high quality kibble and our two boys also get a small portion of a rehydrated raw food added in to that. Our old lady is not so much into the raw, so she doesn't get any. The two boys will also get another smaller portion mid-day of the kibble. But the idea is that by offering variety, they don't get bored and you cover all your bases. This same strategy works really with about any pet.

Also, if you're really concerned, you can always ask your vet to check him out and make sure he's not missing anything.
