Difference is your 60 y/o mother isn’t positioned to take on one of the most critical jobs on the planet. Now with the added twist of the intrigue that any kind of health problems are going to bring.

There definitely needs to be a maximum age amendment, say 70 at inauguration. I’d also argue for someone serving a max 6 years as president (8 is too many today) but will start with this.

Joe Biden is 78. Chuck Grassley, 3rd in line to the presidency, is 87. Mitch McConnel was just reelected to another 6 year term, and he's 78.

People are still spry at 60. My dad is 68 and still works cattle all day. Imagine someone who sits at a desk all day, and has done so for half a century, they're not going to be spry at 78 years old and "playing with their dog".
