Dear God, I've caught a cold

I have chest congestion, a sore throat, a stuffy nose.

That's right folks.

I have a cold.

Something I could have joked about a year ago. Maybe make a man-flu thread and have a laugh.

But no more.

I actually have to either hide it by taking (gasp) OTC meds like Dayquil or fully admit it and be shunned like a leper.

WHo knew that I could treat covid symptoms with bourbon and cold meds.

I've always had a problem with people that are hacking up a lung, well before Covid.
The problem is many people have zero decency, they can't even cough in an elbow or turn away.

Just got over a cold I had for about three weeks, not even a sore throat with that one. The sinuses were draining and I did have an occasional cough, something I did do in a store occasionally, which made some paranoid people kind of uneasy. If you wanted something on black Friday, you could just cough a few times and clear the aisle out so you could get the sale Item you want. Although, black Friday was really dead compared to other years here, it is going to destroy the already hurting stores here. I think they were hoping the vaccine would be here, so risked more than they should have to keep the shops open till Christmas. I see a lot of going out of business sales by small businesses here in the coming month or so. Poor people, all that work and a virus kills their business.

This may sound cruel but some small businesses are dumb.
There was one small business begging people to order from them online. Their website was
horrible, and only had few items. They could probably pay a high schooler a few bucks to at least show some
product.

I think a lot business was eventually going to go the online route, Covid just pushed up the date.

Some non-online businesses have gone online and are having a record breaking year.

Hope you get well soon man... Colds and such suck big time. Congestion turns me into a miserable wus, and usually I'm just a panzy on a normal day.

I'm no COVID nut, but if you just had Thanksgiving with a bunch of people it may not hurt to get a test. I'm sure you'd be fine, but it might be good for other people to stay ahead of it if they're not as healthy as you. That part goes without saying, but given my social deficiency, I went ahead and said if. Par for course and all that.

On a lighter note, enjoy the copius amounts of "medicine" to help with the throat and congestion.

Us too. Since my fiance works in a hospital as an RN, they made her get tested. Covid positive, so now we're in quarantine for 10 days.

Pray for me. I don't know if I'll live through this. 10 days stuck together and you may have to go look in the backyard for my body parts.

Might have to get "tested" just because; paraniod. And I also work in a hospital. We'll see how I feel on Monday.

We're on the up side of it. Know what it felt like ? A cold. Sniffles, stuffy nose. That's it. No fever, hacking, congestion etc...

That sucks .. here on ATS somebody recommended gargling with hydrogen peroxide, cause I'm prone to sore throats sinus problems etc. It works for me Ive had sore throat and sinus issues 3 times this year and each time I did the gargling and it worked so well I even hit my sinuses with a shot, it burns a little but the next day I was breathing as nothing happened, chest congestion Mucinex works well along with a hot steamy shower. A couple of shots of Drambuie, Knob Creek or Wild Turkey 101 and I'm usually good.
