If the USA is so technologically capable, why isn't it building its own voting machines. Why doesn't it have its own high bandwidth mobile telephony? Why is it constantly buying all its tech goods from overseas manufacture?

Because shareholders demand profits over everything else and everything is made cheaper overseas. When shareholders took control of companies it started going downhill fast. I'm not against profits, I am against ruining a company and losing American jobs over a few bucks.

Why the # do you need voting machines? Here, in civilized countries, we use a pen and #ing paper. Voting machines are and always have been inherently insecure.
