That includes shutting TF up about who gathers where & why. It's NOT YOUR CALL, KAREN.
So if the law says you can't gather, you are against going against the law???

Against going against the...what are you drinking today, that made no sense at all. If you're meaning to say against going WITH the recommendations (these are not laws) then damn right. And if it were a law, damn right, go against it, there's no justification for relinquishing your right to have your family at your side because JAG demands it. That's some seriously nasty authoritarian BS, and with your Korean lineage, it SHOULD hit home hard as unacceptable to do as government says 24/7 no matter what.

My Korean lineage tells me Korea is doing a damn better job keeping their people alive.
It isn't the government, it's the people, they actually care about each other. That is why many Asian wore masks before Covid. They don't want to sicken others when they are sick. They also deeply care about elders. Here elderly are expendable, but y'all get your Xmas jollies how you see fit.

Us, too. Victorian town up north... 30 years of holidays...but, not now
Ket said "Sure we'll have a turkey here in the home. We always do, but we won't have family", and it kinda hit me like a slap to the face. Granted, we don't do any holiday gatherings at all (spread too far around the country now) and on a family level, we don't bother with Get Fatter Day anyway, but that family aspect is something that is going to cut deep for many, especially kids who's only chance to see extended family is a holiday like Thanksgiving. They already took Easter from them, and are working on Food Day, Christmas is also in the crosshairs.
It just isn't right, morally or ethically, to demand people cut themselves off from family like this. I'm so sick and tired of people bitching and moaning that if you do gather, you're risking XYZ relative's health, blah, blah, etc. At-Risk XYZ relative or whoever can choose to attend or not, there's zero grounds to pressure people into cancellations when that option is available to use.
We really are being groomed to think a free choice is the devil, here. This year started out with me rolling my eyes at people who said that, but their claims have panned out -- "Comply, or we'll make you regret it" is a supported tactic to use now. It's sick in the head.
