Saw it the other night. Beautiful film. It shows how children GET ideas from society. It shows WHY they try to follow these ideas. It's an in-depth analysis of childhood, and children who can't understand the pain of their parents, and how they act out against it.

The actresses were all at least 14 years old. Nothing was gratuitous, and all was there to make a point, that was very well made.

At the end, it shows the supposedly 11 year old girl returning to her innocence, having faced her demons, which were to do with her mother and what was happening to her mother regarding polygamy.

Honestly, in its country of origin, and the rest of Europe, no one batted an eye. Leave it to North America to go on a judge-fest. Because it's cool to point out "pedo" as soon as you possibly can. Honestly, the whole debacle makes me sad for North America and how ridiculous it's become.

I remember being forced to watch commercials before youtube videos would play, it's soft pornography featuring 11 year old personas - its sickening not only in the way it was sold in the commercials but the fact over 500 children tried out and none of there parents cared enough about their own children.

It's normal for children to go nude on public beaches in Europe or to see nudity on public television - nowhere is it normal to publish that material - it's the difference between parents having nude baby pictures and everyone in the world having them.

Netflix thought they could go further left to a 10 year old transgender child strip dancing for cash and they will pay for it, heavily.

Bryan Singer's Xmen films were far more dangerous to children.

It's called shock value.

Was this movie produced by Epstein productions?

Good.

Throw away the key.

Sadly, as is typical, they will likely skirt by paying massive fines and not serving actual jail time.

Sexualizing children is abuse, and needs to be treated along the same lines as murder/treason/arson.

I couldn't watch the movie, it was awful, but I scanned through it. Honestly, I don't see any difference between this and any of the junior dance/cheer shows on right now. I see bits and pieces while surfing channels and I have not seen one yet I would want my own children participating in.

At the very end, the last ten seconds or so, the main character does have a reckoning of sorts. She is dancing on stage and suddenly stops, faces the audience and starts crying. This is the bit that the defense will use saying it was a cautionary tale, not exploitation. IMHO, if they wanted to make a public service announcement they could have done that without exploiting the little girls for 90 minutes first.

I didn't see the video out of personal choice.

I've never said this before but I was touched by another kid when I was like 8, he would take me to his room and do things to me never the other way around.

so anything to do with children and abuse hits realllly close to home for me, I saw clips on YouTube commentary channels

I know that it is a French film but from just the few clips I have seen it was more than shocking and sickinging

i do enjoy Netflix but I cancelled my subscription, I can live with Hulu and amazon

Netflix pushed kiddy porn to the whole world and should be dealt with accordingly.

really makes you wonder about all the allegations of elite pedo rings and them trying to normalize kiddy porn.

I can't understand why people are against that.

America has shown that they are religious anti-human country that forbids everything humane and i really can't agree with anyone who are agaisnt the movie or any art form to be honest.

AboveTopSecret is full with trolls to begin with.

I think texas should be burned down and destroyed as a state because its hell of a place that kids shoot other kids all the time and they allow everyone to kill themselves with guns for fun and is basically an awfull place.

P.S. I haven't seen the movie and i don't plan to because it sounds boring.

Honestly they are one step from locking everything and everyone so no one to have free mind of their own. They are already pumping everyone with lies. Just look at how bad everything is.

I thought the movie was incredible and brave. Problem is the far majority of people today are so clueless and ironically stupid that I only watched it because I saw it blowing up on every news page and by God is it an important film for anyone not so wordlessly effing oblivious to the message that rides above any others...

Who am I kidding these are the days of Millennials and Gen Z. It's either hold their hands and give them the answers or expect total ignorance. The reason I was so glad watching it is because I felt someone finally gives a good gosh damn. And wont be shut up with threats of a nutcase system. What I got from the movie was that one person somewhere in a continent of ninnies and pushovers is showing daily life in the new Europe which is already so filthy and stained with...new issues...and it allows one to imagine what it will be like is a mere decade brought us to this.

How old are you?

Just curious because I'm nearly 30 and I know children/teenagers were leaving themselves in vulnerable situations at the time. I have friends around the world the same age who had access to the same kind of media and music I did and I know their experiences of youth were very similar.

I drank underage once or twice in adult establishments. I remember plenty of teenagers doing it at that age (14+) and worse. Kids addicted to drugs, dying from huffing gas etc.

It will always go back to the same thing for me... Kids need better education and upbringing. I'm an advocate of sex ed, ensuring if kids are to do stupid things there's a safety network in place. Things like STD clinics and protection.

I'm not too old to remember being a kid, they'll do stupid stuff and regrettable acts. They'll imitate so called celebrities, their temptation towards new and adult experiences are always going to be difficult to manage.

It's not a 'new' European thing either. The US is the biggest influencer of kids despite it having the most stringent age restrictions on youth...

From what I've learned over the years the worst types of child abuse and exploitation doesn't come from media or societal influences anyways. It's most often than not some sick sick # in a position of power or trust. Family members or family friends kinda thing.

All in all though we need to lessen the pressure and want for kids to grow up too fast. They need to learn right and wrong and have the comfort and conviction to call out wrong doing. If this film allows us to approach these issues clear sighted then I guess it's beneficial to society.

If you found Cuties offensive you are a sleaze!

If you thought it was a bunch of kids having fun on a movie set you are not a sleaze.

People aren't upset about child exploitation.
They are worried about being attracted to children.

If the girls in Cuties were fat we wouldn't have the same outrage.

You are sick.

Sexually exploiting children is sick.

Calling out others for their genuine beliefs in regards to the sexual exploitation of children in order to be an arrogant contrarian is sick.

Everyone involved in this knew exactly what they were doing, they made that very clear starting with how they produced, advertised and attempted to explain away something that has near universal condemnation, perhaps they thought they could get Billary out of the clink by normalizing this first, fail.

Is sexually exploiting adults OK?

Where do you draw the line.
Is Britney Spears "hit me baby one more time" OK?

The movie is about comparing woman being forced into polygamous relationships verses women/girls being forced into twerking for approval.

If you rub one out to Cuties...
That's on you. Not the director.

So far three countries: Egypt and Turkey had ban the movie from being shown in there countries, Saudi Arabia order Netflix to remove certain scenes from the movie and it nothing do with the children.

Right now we have to wait and see how it goes with Texas and Netflix. If Texas wins. It likely Netflix will remove the movie from it U.S line up.
If Netflix wins. It will open for other movies, televisions and streaming studios to do the same thing.
