I understand that the homeless might have a stronger immune system and while that makes a lot of sense, do not forget that they have an amazing will to live. They all could have taken themselves out but chose not to. It would not surprise me if a lot of homeless people are somewhat playing by the covid rules the best they can.

Not sure I quite agree on amazing will to live...maybe just more of an apathy for life.

I do know there are some folks who truly have just had hard times or prefer that life style...but most are either mentally ill or junkies...neither really think like that in my experience at least...its not the norm I guess is what I'm saying.

With all the filth the homeless deal with daily and the fact they can't shower regularly, they must be in contact with more pathogens while being shunned, than people with homes. Therefore it is a sound assumption they have a more robust immune system.

However, they likely have extremely poor diets, on the other hand, they may have a better probiotic ecology in their guts from dumpster foods and other people's left overs. Think of the stress of life on the streets. Is it a more stressful way of life? I would think so. Are they under represented in the COVID count and so we cannot know the real statistics?

A lot of questions about this one.

Jesus none of us know the "homeless".....we do not know how many have gotten sick....no one tracks them they are Nomadic....add in the new Covid-Homeless and there is no way in a Gnats sack you are ever going to accurately be able to extrapolate how covid has impacted the "homeless".

Some people are homeless by choice or proxy. Some of those people may reach out for help when things like a Pandemic happen.

Some people are forced into homelessness....and we cannot keep track of them .

When was the last time you interacted with a homeless person? Talked with one?

It's actually not surprising. They are already isolated from society for the most part

When people work soup kitchens or food banks. When you pass them in the street while they ask for money. Many are drug addicts or alcoholics. So they do interact with their suppliers.

So yes. Homeless people do interact with Society. They do congregate from time to time.

Also, they probably have dug through trash from homes with people infected with Covid 19 looking for food.

It's because they live a very dirty life by normal western standards. Like not washing often and living in around germs and filth that is around the streets of most cities. You end up with a naturally strong immune system because it is regularly being used and learning from the various germs it comes into contact with.

Which is why I rarely wash. That film of micro cooties is keeping me safe, always has. I'll go from cleaning my barn without gloves to eating a sandwich. Or gardening and whatever. I crawl into bed at the end of the day with my barn clothes on. Its all good as that is the way nature intended us and keeps the immune system tuned up.

Ya, but for the most part..the suppliers are in the same boat, these people are not making trips out to the burbs to meet a supplier, the supplier lives amongst them.

It could be that people normally have an aversion to homeless people so they socially distance themselves automatically.

That could be just helping to keep them safe from the disease.

Could it be that few of the homeless have access to wireless 5G beam technology?

How many of the homeless would go to see a doctor if they
had a cough ? sniffle ? chills or fever ?
Majority only end up at the hospital emerg. not for cough but for
overdoses. The poles/stats would list other issues for admission.
Although it is said that alcohol is a disinfectant ?

Nah they go to the hospital a lot. My brother knows a lot of homeless folks by name in his city...from driving them to the hospital that often in his ambulance. Not for real emergencies usually...they just wanna spend some time in a bed, grab a meal, and watch some TV.

From what I've seen on the news, they are (for the most part), no longer living on park benches, in doorways, and cardboard boxes. Cities have put them up in hotels, expanded shelters, and constructed "tent cities".

Covid-19 should have "ravaged" their population just as social scientists and medical experts predicted, after it was learned how easily Covid-19 spreads from person to person. But I'm glad it didn't!

What lessons can we learn from this? Anything?

Note: I will refrain from the discussion what the virus is and how we got into this event.

But what this does show is that suddenly when the fear is high nobody complains to help and provide for the people in need (note 2: if they want help or not) and suddenly housing/tenting/shelters can be provided.

It's a good thing some people step up for that, the motive (not talking about the volunteers, I mean the cash providers) can be questioned though.

By nature the virus only kills .02%. Not sure how that would "ravage" any group of people.

Also, thinking back on the report/study that showed that those who had a recent flu shot were much more likely to develop severe symptoms and/or die, I wonder how many homeless people get flu shots or other vaccinations?

I was homeless of and on for years one thing homeless have always DONE willing of NOT is social DISTANCE even from each other . THE ONLY time we group is in the feedlines at missions and Guess who has BEEN CLOSED .
Now I am NO longer homeless just menially sound enough to barly function .

But most homeless cant make the transion Back to normal ???? life .

About 2 times a week every pore in my body wants to go back to the woods even THOUGH i can pay my rent its annoying .
Took me 6 months to even get this far along .
PS we b ARE NOT ALL DRUG addict's or DRUNKS or crimals But most of us Do have some kind of mentile illness even when we first become homeless NOt having one they develop very fast .

HOMELESS PEOPLE get ZERO health care so No flue shots LORd lol like any one will Give homeless anything more then some clothing ( Donated or Food donated )
If you ever gave a homeless person 5 bucks FROM your own pocket that is more then Most charity's ever do .
