Literally everything is better......................

Traffic is lighter. Lines are shorter. All kinds of projects are getting done around my house.

Are you for real?

Have you not noticed the current attempt to enslave the entire planet through the creation of eyewatering levels of debt.

Has the penny not dropped yet that, for the current generations at school and those who have just left, their future has just been torched.

But that's all ok, you can drive around with less traffic. FS.

Eh, like Darth Cheney said, "Deficits don't matter." I don't actually agree with that, but despite the doomsays and the "sky (dollar) is falling / $10,000/oz gold is right around the corner" (for the past 25 years) doomsayers, its actually well-manageable.

I don't even think we've even hit our worst Debt:GDP ratio - that occurred in the immediate aftermath of WW2. Our debt:GDP dropped drastically after that peak before we started racing toward our first trillion in the 80's. There's no reason to think we can't come back from a smaller precipice.

What I miss is my wife having just gotten back to work with kids both in school now before this. I miss all that money she should be making but can't now. I miss having 2 days a week off instead of one day off and one as e-learning facilitator. I miss having inventory to sell - near empty thanks to 3 months of factory shut-downs.

I want my money and my time back.

I also miss going to a packed bar for a Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers show, passing a bottle of Mekong around the crowd, losing my voice, leaving the venue soaked in equal parts my seeat, others' sweat, and tequila/cerveza. I worry that may be one of the last thigs to return.

And city folks staying in their cities

That was already happening pre-covid here, city folks were buying in the burbs and country for a while.

You'll find its been the lifelong dream for many of us.

Have worked from home for over a decade, and keep fine company with myself. The sense of alienation never hit me like so many others. But I do miss...

-Smiles, and being able to 'read' people based on facial expression. Yeah, I sometimes see eye-crinkles above the rim of the mask and know people are smiling... but social engagement is quite bland when running errands and grocery shopping. Seems people now think no eye contact is part of social distancing.

-Despite not being a church-goer for 40+ years, oddly miss knowing that people, especially the elderly, can go to church/synagogue/mosque/temple. For so many that is the extent of their social interaction.

-Hearing the high school band practicing in the school parking lot till 9 PM and the corporate jet taking off and flying overhead at 7:55 AM every workday.
-People leaning in and whispering secrets in my ear that I'll never keep.

I miss not having to make an appointment for anything driver license related or vehicle tags etc.

It took me 5 weeks to get into the DMV to take a driving test.

And the worst part about it is we can only make one appointment per thing. For example if you need a title transfer, pick up a tag, register your vehicle, take a motorcycle written test...well you need a separate appointment for each of those. Oh and each appointment will be between 2 and 6 weeks apart. Oh and you won't be able to do all of those things at one location because around here different facilities in different counties offer different services. The ones that offer all services are far away. This is really frustrating.

Also at work it is mandatory for everyone to wear a mask all day everyday throughout the entire facility. I hate wearing the stupid mask.

This 'crisis' gave me a lot of opportunities that without this 'crisis' would be a bureaucratic headache. Instead of having to travel to different countries to be present to get paperwork done (or pay a #load to a lawyer to do that) suddenly all could be arranged online. No fines for being late, all this stupid bureaucratic stuff suddenly went real smooth.

I did not look forward to this is January but now I'm a quite happy Dumbass that feels like everything was thrown in his lap.

The only thing I really miss is fast delivery from online orders. While in January most people went to stores it now feels like everyone and their dead grandmother is ordering online and it takes days before I can receive a delivery. That sucks although its just a luxery problem and only needs a bit of planning to be solved.

I could say I 'miss' the planning I made for bureaucratic headache 2020 as I put a lot of effort in that to make it all happen but like I mentioned it changed for the better in my case. So you will not hear me complain about it.

Going to restaurants, shopping, easier work conditions, and my hometowns local August festivals junk food. I've always been a hermit, but there are still things that I miss socially. I have been getting paid more so covid is somewhat of a plus.

I miss people not having this state of mind when seeing a person is like looking at someone with black death.

I miss working without a mask on my face most of the time, i miss my nose which was not red because of the mask.

I miss vacation abroad... skipped this year

i miss freedom to gather, in freetime and worktime ( restrictions how many can be in one room)..

i miss a lot...

I have disliked most things most of the time. I'm a horribly awkward, uncomfortable-in-my-own-skin, curmudgeonly sort.

The trillions we wasted. No cynical commercials where jerk offs are promoting products wearing masks. Using our immune system.

I miss travel Most of all. We would fly across the country on a whim, just for the week end. And in no particular order happiness, the feeling of safety, bars, dancing, working girls, peace, civility, giving and receiving hugs without thinking it my be a death sentence for one of us.

24 hour Walmarts and HEB! I work at night rather often, and convenient stores and truck stops are freaking expensive.

Also, I miss product availability. Fishing gear? Everybody is sold out of most of what I need. Managers at each store say the suppliers don't have much to give them. They've got stuff on order from way back. Swing sets too! They're difficult to find in stock anywhere.

I also miss salad bar set-ups. Go to Stripes in the morning for a breakfast taco. Want some green sauce to throw on there? Nope! The condiment bar is shut down, and they aren't making it.

It isn't too much like that where I am. Most places do wear masks, but most everybody around here still interacts with one another like normal. Several places have done away with mask wearing, and in those places of business very few customers wear them.

The biggest issue here is walking up to a store, seeing the "mask required" sign, and remembering you forgot it in the car. Often, someone will see someone doubling back, and they'll comment something like, "I forgot my stupid mask too." Or "Forgot your mask? I can't wait for this mask nonsense to be over!"

Everyone here still gathers. College parties still boom in their college apartments. Our few bar and grills found the loopholes, and they stay packed. Out door, indoor, nobody cares. They see how few cases we've gotten overall in our county, and nobody enforces the social distancing rules.

I miss my father. He passed away about a month ago. I blame it on not going to the gym because of the danger of getting covid as he had copd and covid would have been fatal. I took care of him for over a year and he went down hill slowly the last few months. More problems kept developing, then hospital stays. He was doing good until the covid shutdown.

I miss my girlfriend/best friend that passed away a couple of days ago of covid. She was about a week on a ventilator then kidney failure. Funeral this Saturday.

I miss normal life but will never get it back now.
