I don't think I have ever seen this amount of visible mental illness as there is in ufology right now.

The whole thing is going to crash and burn, not a prediction I take any enjoyment from making either.

The only positive from all this, is being able to confirm who the real grifters really are who may have flown under the radar previously.

The only winners in any of this are the DoD, who are laughing their tits off.

There is this odd feeling of history repeating itself....and I have seen the future.

It looks very much like the past.

Now serious questions are being asked by guys from the War Zone about the how and who is leaking classified information to an infotainer of maybe questionable repute.

Tonight, the UAPTF spokesperson responded to my initial questions about these concerns. I asked:

1. Did anyone associated with UAPTF or the public affairs team leak the material published by Corbell?

2. Is there an investigation into the leak? If so, what is its status? If not, why not?

3. Did Jeremy Corbell or George Knapp contact you or anyone in the Department of Defense in advance to determine if releasing this material would be harmful to US interests?

She responded as follows:

....Notably, her response denies that the Navy or Department of Defense released the photos or videos. However, it goes on to state that the information was "provided" to "web news outlets" without following proper procedures. She further explains that the partial confirmation was intended to reduce public misperception, and that no formal investigation has been initiated regarding the release of the photos or video.

Her response did not immediately address the growing issue of alleged classified briefings. Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp have claimed that their knowledge of secret briefing slides support their claims that the videos depict a remarkable transmedium vehicle and not a conventional drone:

UAPTF Responds To Disinformation Concerns

So the Navy are not investigating yet prepared to confirm someone did not follow proper procedures to release information from a classified report Hmmm...

Maybe because they want the information out there via 'alternative' channels.

The DoD have been on the back foot with this since day 1.
You've got to wonder if there is a third party running side channel interference on the DoD via timed releases of military obtained footage using useful idiots like Corbell.

Now who would have a collection of unidentified observations captured by military systems/personel...... (I can think of 2 options and neither are above suspicion).

A recent confirmation of his own previous confirmation by Reid.

Pic

For those that follow these things closely.....has Su Gough ever actually commented on Elizondo's leadership claims?

Her predecessor (Chris Sherwood) said in 2019 : "Mr. Elizondo had no responsibilities with regard to the AATIP program while he worked in OUSDI [the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence], up until the time he resigned effective 10/4/2017".

Where was it posted?

Dunno....
Reid probably had a calendar reminder set.

Pentagon did then release a statement to counter Reids latest letter with a one word change ("assigned") to previously released statement:

twitter.com...

Of course.....one of the ways for the DoD to distance themselves from something bad - would be to get a friendly old senator and a CIA random to carry the can as half believable controlled opposition....
Alternatively- this could be various factions providing briefings against each other.

Either way....more effort than anyone in the UFOlogy community was asking for...again.

ETA: @ Phage: Reid apparently sent it to Gadi Schwartz at NBC
twitter.com...

From what I can gather the original statement about Elizondo running AATIP was made by former Pentagon employee Dana White and reported by Bryan Bender.

....Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White confirmed to POLITICO that the program existed and was run by Elizondo. But she could not say how long he was in charge of it and declined to answer detailed questions about the office or its work, citing concerns about the closely held nature of the program.

Politico - Dec 2017

WIRED magazine was unable to get such confirmation in Feb 2018 from Pentagon spokesperson Audricia Harris.

...
...... (WIRED was unable to verify that Elizondo worked on AATIP, but Harris does confirm that he worked for the Defense Department.)

Wired - Feb 2018

That statement was then reinforced in June 2019 by the Intercept quoting Chris Sherwood.

...Yes, AATIP existed, and it “did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena,” Pentagon spokesperson Christopher Sherwood told me. However, he added: “Mr. Elizondo had no responsibilities with regard to the AATIP program while he worked in OUSDI [the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence], up until the time he resigned ...”

The Intercept - June 2019

In June of 2019 Elizondo's chosen leakage point released a slightly less redacted memo mentioning AATIP with Special Agent Elizondo listed...

In response the Black Vault's John Greenwald questioned the authenticity of the memo and Elizondo's role. Susan Gough the Pentagon's spokesperson responded.

.... Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough stated, “I can confirm that the memo you’re referring to is authentic… It makes no change to previous statements. Mr. Elizondo had no assigned responsibilities for AATIP while he was in OUSD(I) [the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence].”

Black Vault - June 2019

I'd say that makes it Pentagon 3-1 that old Zondo had no "assigned" responsibilities. Whatever that actually means. Everything is being left somewhat ambiguous from the Pentagon spokespersons.

Similarly, the old TTSA 'Young Dones' all quote from the same circle jerk like Reid and the rest of the Vegas UFO Mob.

As far as I know FOI requests have produced next to nothing on AATIP.

Maybe Harry Reid could write a letter about how his $22m was accounted for by his chum too?

Where are those warehouses Big Bobelow allegedly got money to build for a start?

No stranger to clandestine activities either. He was part of the MK Ultra Senate Hearings in 1977 and also involved in the Iran-Contra investigations of the 1980s.

You have detailed files

If Lou's making it all up- it should be a quick denial from the DoD and a referral to their previous statement.

Reissuing statements with added words (especially ambiguous ones like assigned) makes me think the truth is somewhere in between.

A co-intel guy would have a number of "authentic" fake covers/credentials and even possibly be attached to projects (fake and real) as part of their role...

Might be impossible even for those on the inside to definitively verify/refute dependant upon how many bits of paper need to be sifted through/how paranoid his handlers were at the time.

You also have to ask why Harry Reid has to write a letter confirming Elizondo had a leadership role some three and a half years after the NYT, WaPo and Politico revealed the existence of AATIP.

Yet no one who has raised FOIA requests, not Reid, nor Lue himself has been able to produce a bonafide official document that confirms this. Nor much about what results or reports were produced by AATIP. Even though we were told it was not even classified!

And the retired old Senator's letter is now all over social media. Apparently proof that old Zondo was who he says he was and the Pentagon is lying. Which could well be the case.

So there you have it from a man who claims he was instrumental in getting the funding for AATIP. Yet even he can't produce any 'official' paperwork that proves his role either. So he has to write notes.

The other senators involved are unfortunately no longer with us. But my guess is they would be writing notes too.

As that old motto goes. "…trust no one".

And the plot just thickened even more after FOI requests by JG over at the Black Vault :

Harry Reid And His AATIP Letter: The Mystery Deepens

He's talking about the letter posted here a few posts above this one.

....Reid’s AATIP letter was missing from the Congressional Correspondence log was made in 2018. Yet, nearly a decade prior to that, another FOIA request made by Laura Strickler from CBS News would make this entire saga even more strange. This FOIA case is important because this was eight years prior to the AATIP story ever becoming public, and nine years prior to Reid’s AATIP letter ever leaking....

Filed in July of 2009, Strickler asked for, “Copies of all congressional correspondence between [the]Department of Defense and any member of Congress or any staffer from Congress from February 1, 2009 – July 17, 2009,” according to OSD’s FOIA Case Log. Her timeframe would include the date of Reid’s June 24, 2009, AATIP letter, therefore it should be included in the response...

Reid’s AATIP letter was nowhere to be found.

With this extra piece of evidence, it can now be proven that over the span of a decade, despite not having an apparent classification, this letter and possibly the response to it was being shielded from the public’s eye and potentially a piece of evidence lost in a government cover-up....

Harry's, now dearly departed friends involved in setting up AATIP Senators Inouye and Stevens have a history links directly to these same old characters. One of whom recently was forced out of TTSA....

A HANDFUL OF SENATORS KEPT DIA PSYCHICS AT WORK

A secret Defense Intelligence Agency program that posed tough military questions to a handful of full-time, salaried psychics was kept alive for years at the insistence of a few senators and a congressional staff aide despite opposition from senior military intelligence officials, congressional and military sources said yesterday.

One staff member -- C. Richard D'Amato, an intelligence specialist on the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on defense.... was credited by four sources with almost single-handedly ensuring the defeat of repeated efforts by the DIA's leadership to kill the psychic program...

D'Amato...confirmed in an interview yesterday that he kept the program alive because four to six senators had expressed unusual and sustained interest in its potential...

"I wanted this to continue because I was responding to the desire of members [of the Senate] who came to me," D'Amato said....

Subcommittee Chairman Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and senior minority member Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii) were both briefed annually on all intelligence programs, including the psychic research program, congressional sources said. A former military official familiar with the program said Inouye in particular "was interested and willing to take some risks" to pursue the program...

The classified psychic research program consists of three parts, according to a report released this week by the CIA. One portion has been devoted to scientific research aimed at determining whether and how the psychic technique called "remote viewing" works; another portion has tried to figure out the type of parapsychology work being conducted by foreign governments; and the third involved supporting as many as six psychics at a time at Fort Meade, Md....

...a 1989 report by the DIA inspector general concluded that the U.S. effort "had not reached operational status" and should be halted, a recommendation he accepted....

Washington Post - Dec 1st 1995

Maybe by 2009 someone started to smoke out that bacon Inouye and Stevens were fond of procuring?

Well, I took a look at the evidence that "proves" Reid's letter was never logged. Given that this claims to be Congressional correspondence and that there's a bunch of stuff in there that isn't, including an invite from the Russian Embassy, a letter from somebody named Rasmussen re a Boy Scout letter, and invites from the captains of three or four "USS" vessels to commissioning ceremonies, it looks like somebody searched a larger correspondence file for "USS." In which case, yeah, it's possible that letter was logged but a typo results in its being missing from the FOIA file. (I will say for Harry that he's a lot less prolific than some of his fellow Senators.)

As JG says in his own piece....

...Maybe the pile of evidence which includes proof of the absence of the AATIP letter in Congressional correspondence logs; the lack of proper protocol being followed for Congressional inquiries; the FOIA request which should have turned up an Unclassified document but did not; all could be just human errors and coincidences all piled up on top of each other. So aside from the fact that the AATIP saga is ripe with unanswered questions and flip-flopping Pentagon statements, maybe it is just nothing more than that.

Source

When you look across the whole of this story, now spanning 17 years, it's a metaphorical piece of swiss cheese. It could just be an administrative screw up in this particular case.

But start with the leaking of the Nimitz UFO video. Originally we were told a very different story to the one we are familiar with. It changed in just one day here on ATS back in 2007.

I work in the computer field and am high enough ranked and trusted to access the top secret network onboard…..

It was about 2300 when the ship went into a "security alert" ……Rumor was circling around in my department that there was a UFO above the ship. … I logged on to the top secret computer network …

I found many videos and powerpoint briefs (navy standard) and written reports ….

I burnt all these files to a disk and stashed it somewhere….

The UFO was floating extremely still in mid air, this was 30,000 ft above ground level. It looked literally and i mean LITERALLY just like a disk

Observations of an Actual UFO

A day later the same poster changed the story....It was no longer a disk and the times had changed too to a more familiar tale.

Date 14 November 2004

Two interceptor fighters were directed to a certain location, where an unknown object… The fleet informed the intercepting jets that the object was moving at 100 KTS @ 25 KFT ASL….

The jets could not find any object at that location. While the jets were searching for the air contact, they spotted a large object in the water at 1430L. The pilots saw steam/smoke/churning around the object. The pilot described the object initially as resembling a downed airliner, he also stated that it was much larger than a submarine.

A jet descended down from 24KFT to gain a better view of the object in the water. The jet then spotted an air contact, it appeared to be a capsule shaped (wingless, mobile, white, oblong pill shaped, 25-30 feet in length, no visible markings and no glass) ….Neither of the two jets could achieve radar lock or any other means of positive id.

Fighter Jet UFO Footage : The Real Deal

In 2018 we even had a debate over what AATIP really stood for. What followed have been many conflicting statements by various parties from both sides of the fence. Then we have leaked documents and photos that just stir the pot and keep everything spinning in a circle of confusion.

That seems to be the MO in this topic. Nothing of any importance gets resolved. The US Navy seems to be at the heart of this particular story. Yet it looks and feels like both sides are playing a game.
